Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins Preview

On the season the Eagles are 8-6 ATS and they have an O/U record of 9-5 and the Redskins are 4-10 ATS and they have an Under record of 6-8.

This season the Redskins are 2-4 at home and the Eagles are 3-3 on the road.

In their last games the Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys 38-27 and the Redskins lost to the New York Giants 24-13.

Hard to believe that at 9-5 the Eagles may be on the outside looking in on the post-season. Their loss to Dallas last week was HUGE, as the Cowboys will in the NFC East if they win out. With the Lions, Packers, and Seahawks all at 10-4 the Eagles will need help to snag one of the 2 NFC Wild Cards if they cannot catch Dallas.

Robert Griffin III will be getting the start in this game and these last 2 days of the season may determine if he will be in the Nation’s Capital next season.

Earlier this season in Philadelphia the Eagles beat the Redskins 37-34.

The Redskins have lost 6 straight and in their last 5 games their offense has sputtered averaging only 12 ppg.

Griffin was decent in the loss to the Giants passing for 236 yards with 1 TD and 0 INT, but he was sacked 7 times. He has the weapons to pass to, but will need time to find them. That is a tall task facing a Philly pass rush that has the 2nd most sacks in the league. If RG3 is given time he may have a big game facing an Eagles pass D that ranks 28th in the league.

Earlier in the season in the Redskins loss to the Eagles Philly gave up over 400 passing yards, but that was with Kirk Cousins under center.

Alfred Morris has also struggled this season after a great rookie campaign and he has toi have a good game to take the pressure off RG3. He will face a Eagles’ run defense that ranks 18th in the league and despite the loss last week held the league’s leading rusher in DeMarco Murray in check to the tune of 81 yards only averaging 2.6 yards per carry.

The Redskins’ defense ranks 17th against the pass and 7th against the run and will face an Eagles offense that ranks in the top 8 in the league in passing and rushing yards per game. Mark Sanchez will get another start and in the Dallas game he had 0 TD and was picked off 2 times.

LeSean McCoy has cooled down in the last2 games after rushing for over 100 yards in the previous 2 and he may be THE player the Skins’ D has to key on.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

Bucking the betting trends here, as I think RG3 will have a good game and while Washington may not win they will cover the 9-point spread at home.
