New England Patriots vs. Green Bay Packers Preview

On the season the Patriots are 7-4 ATS and they have an O/U record of 8-3 and the Rams are 6-4-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 9-2.

This season the Packers are 5-0 at home and the Patriots are 3-2 on the road.

In their last games the Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-21 and the Patriots beat the Detroit Lions 34-9.

Obviously, it is a little early, but dare I say this may be a Super Bowl preview? There is still a lot of football to play, but these have been the most impressive teams on the gridiron in the last several weeks.

The Pats have won 7 straight and the Packers have won 3 in a row.

Tom Brady and the Patriots have been putting up big numbers in their 7-game winning streak, but their defense has also solid in their last game only giving up 9 points to the Lions. In their streak the Patriots are averaging nearly 40 points per game.

Aaron Rodgers is having a MVP season and his stats this season have been sick. He has one of the best WR duos in the league in Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson and will face a New England pass D that shut down Matthew Stafford last week and overall ranks 17th in the league.

Rodgers did not have a huge game in the win over the Vikings, but he did have 2 TD and 0 INT. Eddie Lacy has not been the stud rookie he was last season, but looked like it in the Minnesota game with 125 rushing yards averaging a legit 5 yards per carry.

Brady passed for 349 yards in the win over the Lions and while has been playing great he does have 4 INT in the last 3 games. Rob Gronkowski is back to being an elite TD and Brady has been spreading the wealth with the passing game. The Packers rank 13th in the league in pass defense and in the Minnesota game they did have an INT, but allowed 2 passing TD’s.

The Patriots just finding ways to run the ball, as 2 weeks back Jonas Gray came out of nowhere to rush for over 200 yards and last week recent Pittsburgh cast off LeGarrettt Blount rushed for 78 with 2 TD in his first game back with New England. Whoever, runs the ball for the Pats may have a good game facing a Green Bay run D that only ranks 30th in the league.

The pass rush will be key for each team and both teams have decent ones this season with the Packers totaling 27 sacks and the Pats with 25.

Tough call in this one, but at home I have to go with Rodgers and the Packers to win and cover.
