Miami Dolphins (3-3) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6) Preview

On the season the Dolphins are 3-3 ATS and they have an O/U record of 4-2 and the Jaguars are 2-5 ATS and they have an Under record of 4-3.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Jaguars are 2-1 at home and the Dolphins are 2-1 on the road.

In their last games the Jaguars beat the Cleveland Browns 24-6 and the Dolphins beat the Chicago Bears 27-14.

The Jaguars got their first win of the season in their last game and there is no only 1 winless team in the NFL in the Oakland Raiders. While the Jags got in the W column in their last game and are at home this Sunday they are still a 5-point underdog facing the Dolphins

The Dolphins have won 2 of their last 3 games to get back to .500 and they are still in the AFC East race. They really need this game, as their next 4 after are tough facing the Chargers, Lions, Bills, and Broncos.

The Jags won their last game because of great defense and the forced turnover. They had only forced 4 turnovers all season coming into the game and 3 of them came in the first game. In the win over Cleveland they forced 3 and that is key for them this Sunday. Their offense has been weak all season and they need to get some turnovers to get some good field position for their struggling offense.

In the win over the Browns the Jags held Cleveland to 69 rushing yards and held Brian Hoyer to 16/41 passing for 215 yards with 0 TD and 1 INT.

Besides the defense playing well in the Browns game Denard Robinson was also a big key rushing for 127 yards averaging 5.8 yards per carry. He will be facing a Miami run defense that ranks 10th in the league and played great last week stuffing the run holding the Bears to only 52 rushing yards.

Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles has not been playing well and even in the Cleveland win he only had 159 yards with 1 TD and 3 INT. It does not help that the Jags have a very weak WR corps and the rookie QB has 5 TD and 10 INT so far on the season. He has top avoid mistakes in this game facing a solid Miami pass defense, which ranks 4th in the league.

Miami QB Ryan Tannehill has been playing well and he has 2 TD in each of his last 3 games and in the Chicago win he was not picked off. Mike Wallace is a speedy WR that the Jags’ pass defense has to worry about, as he has 5 TD on the season. The Jags played pretty good pass defense in the Cleveland win, but overall that unit ranks 30th in the league.

The Jacksonville run D ranks in the middle of the pack and they really shined in shutting down the run against the Browns. Lamar Miller leads Miami and their 5th ranked rushing offense and Tannehill can also move the chains with his legs with 150 rushing yards on the season.
