Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings Preview

On the season the Packers are 6-3-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 9-1 and the Vikings are 5-5 ATS and they have an O/U record of 3-7.

This season the Vikings are 2-2 at home and the Packers are 2-3 on the road.

In their last games the Packers beat the Philadelphia Eagles 53-20 and the Vikings lost to the Chicago Bears 21-13.

The Packers have won 2 straight and to say Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense has been on fire would be an understatement. They have scored 55 points and 53 in their last 2 games respectively and it is no shock that they are big 9.5-point road favorites this Sunday.

The Vikings had their 2-game winning streak snapped in their last game and their defense will be tested in this game. They do have a couple of things going for them, as the strength of their D is their pass defense, ranking 8th in the league, and the Packers are under .500 on the road this season. Still, the Vikings gave up 330 passing yards in their loss to the Bears last week.

Earlier this season in Green Bay the Packers laid a 42-10 beat down on the Vikings.

Rodgers has one of the best WR duos in the league in Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson and in his last 3 games he has passed for an average of 358 yards per game and in that span he has 10 TD and only 2 INT.

The Vikes do have a legit pass defense, but what may be more important is their pass rush, which ranks tied for third in the league with the most sacks. It is vital that Minnesota get to Rodgers in the pocket, as if he is given time he will troch the secondary.

While Eddie Lacy has gone through a sophomore slump this season running the ball after a great rookie campaign he did have a good game in the win over the Eagles. He has a chance to pad his stats some in this game facing a Minnesota run defense that ranks 21st in the league.

Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has been up and down this season and it does not help that his WR corps is less than stellar. The Packers have played much better pass defense as of late and that unit ranks 13th in the league.

The Packers have struggled to defend the run this season, ranking 29th in the league, and that has to be key for the Vikes. However, they have gone through several RB’s this season and one has to step up in this game.

If they cannot run the ball Bridgewater will have to do it all and it will not keep Rodgers off the field.
