Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers Preview

On the season the Broncos are 6-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 8-5 and the Chargers are 6-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 6-7.

This season the Chargers are 5-2 at home and the Broncos are 3-3 on the road.

In their last games Broncos beat the Buffalo Bills 24-17 and the Chargers lost to the New England Patriots 23-14.

It is pretty easy for the Broncos in this game, as if they win they will wrap up the AFC West crown. They are the betting favorite even in sunny San Diego facing a Chargers’ team that lost by 14 points earlier this season in Denver.

The Chargers are still in the playoff mix, but their remaining schedule is a tough one, as after the Broncos they face the 49ers and Chiefs with both games on the road.

San Diego has to muster some more offense then they did in the loss to the Pats where they only had 216 yards of total offense.

Phillip Rivers was held to 189 passing yards with 1 TD and 1 INT facing the Patriots and he was sacked 4 times. Keenan Allen and Malcolm Floyd have combined for over 1,500 receiving yards on the season and it is key that his line protect him and against Von Miller and a Denver pass rush that has the 4th most sacks in the league.

Ryan Matthews rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, but has been beset by injuries yet again this season. Still, he is healthy now, but only had 44 rushing yards in the loss to the Pats and he will face a Broncos’ run defense that ranks 2nd in the league.

In the match up earlier this season between these 2 teams Peyton Manning had 3 TD and 0 INT and RB Ronnie Hillman had 109 rushing yards. Manning leads Denver and their 4th ranked passing offense and Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders each have over 1,200 receiving yards and have combined for 17 TD.

The San Diego pass defense ranks a respectable 8th n the league and that unit must play well since their pass rush has the 2nd fewest sacks in the league.

The Broncos have used a slew of RB’ this season and they will go up against a San Diego run defense that ranks 13th in the league and actually had a solid game even in the loss to New England last week.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

The Chargers had their 3-game winning streak snapped in their last game and they will not get back in the W column in this game. Manning and company will find a way to win and while the Bolts will not get blown out at home the Broncos will still cover the spread.
