Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints Preview

On the season the Falcons are 6-8 ATS and they have an O/U record of 6-8 and the Saints are 6-8 ATS and they have an Under record of 10-4.

This season the Saints are 3-4 at home and the Falcons are 2-5 on the road.

In their last games the Saints beat the Chicago Bears 31-15 and the Falcons lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-20.

Oh the strength of the NFC South, as this game between the 6-8 Saints and 5-9 Falcons has major playoff implications. The Saints are in the lead in the division and they will win it if they can win their last 2 games. The Falcons can do the same if they win out with their last 2 games against the Saints and Panthers, who they trail in the division.

These 2 teams met in a shootout in the first game of the season with the Falcons winning 37-34 in OT.

The Falcons have lost 3 of their last 4 games including their last 2.

The Saints have lost their last 4 home games.

One of the bright sports for the Falcons this season has been Matt Ryan and a passing offense that ranks 5th in the league. Julio Jones is having a big season and Roddy White make up a great WR duo. While the Saints only rank 26th in pass defense they were decent in the Chicago game and their pass rush was great coming up with 7 sacks. However, they gave up 445 passing yards in the loss to the Falcons in the opener.

Steven Jackson has not been the back the Falcons envisioned when they signed him from the Rams before last season. He only had 42 rushing yards in the loss to the Steelers and against New Orleans this season he also failed to rush for over 50 yards.

Drew Brees leads the league 3rd ranked passing offense and he has several solid targets. He may be poised for a big game, as the Falcons rank dead last in the league in both pass defense and sacks.

Mark Ingram has bounced back for a solid season, but facing the Bears he struggled.

The Falcons have had their issues defending the run this season, ranking 20th in run D, but they stuffed the run last week even in the loss to the Steelers.
