It’s do or die time for the Jacksonville Jaguars – they didn’t do themselves any favors last week! Now they face an absolute must win situation against a team that is simply playing for jobs and have nothing to lose. The Washington Redskins Redskins put up 30 points last week against Dallas and will be looking to do it again.

Washington has botched their future plans but now that they have put the Donovan McNabb and Albert Haynesworth situations behind them, they can now just focus on Football.

Washington comes in with the league’s 9th ranked passing offense – Rex Grossman threw for 322 yards and four touchdowns last week. The only good thing in the 28th ranked rushing attack that has been good this season, Ryan Torain, has had some injury issues throughout the season. When he’s played, the offense has done well. He’s healthy again and although he had an average game last week, he could pose some problems for the Jags this week.

Washington’s defense is brutal –  30th ranked pass defense (263.29 yards per game) and the 27th ranked run defense (136.36 yards per game). Needless to say, the offense is going to have to win this game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a bad game last week. It reeks of slump to me! Maurice Jones-Drew has touched the ball a ton this year and it might be starting to catch up with him. Word is that he is a tad nicked – it may explain why he could only generate 46 yards against the 28th ranked Indianapolis team last week. It’s a good thing for Rashard Jennings – he’s been solid in relief of Jones-Drew.

MJD and the league’s 3rd best rushing offense (151.36 yards per game) had better show up on Sunday because the 27th ranked passing game aint going to win the game!

Jacksonville’s defense is like Washington’s. They are 27th against the pass (255.64 yards per game) and 18th versus the run (115.80 yards per game). They are going to give up yards and scores. It is going to up to the Jacksonville offense – this unit isn’t going to win the game for you.

Betting Prediction:

The Washington Redskins are 1-6 SU in their last seven games and are just 4-14 SU in their last 18 on the road.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 5-2 SU in their last seven games, are 4-1 SU in their last five at home but are a miserable 8-15 ATS in their last 23 at home. Jacksonville is 4-0 ATS in their last four games as home favorite.

To me, this has all the makings of a letdown game for the Jags. All of the air could have been let out of their sails last week and I think that it may affect them in this game. Washington will score this week with a healthy Ryan Torain and a carefree Rex Grossman. I just don’t know if the Jags with an apparently banged up MJD will be able to beat this Skins team by seven. I like the Jags to choke and the Skins to cover.

Betting Pick: Washington Redskins +7
