The Tennessee Titans return home after two consecutive road wins to face the Philadelphia Eagles who have two straight wins of their own. The Titans appear to have hit the Eagles at the right time as DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick will sit out Week 7.

Philadelphia has not missed a beat since re-inserting Kevin Kolb as quarterback. The overall offense continues to be strong and is ranked fourth with 380.3 yards per game. Kolb, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek will be called upon to fill  the void left by the concussed DeSean Jackson but should have little problem against the league’s seventh worst pass defense.

Philadelphia’s defense has been solid, not spectacular this season ranking 11th overall. They allow 314 yards per game but at least they know who they will have to focus on this week – Chris Johnson.

The Tennessee Titans will likely get Vince Young back from a minor knee strain this week, leaving an effective Kerry Collins as back up once again. The passing offense has been efficient but unspectacular so far this season as demonstrated by the 171 yards passing and two touchdowns that they registered last week in a blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It is the running of Chris Johnson that will make or break the Titans this week. After some unflattering numbers in the past few weeks, CJ2 appears to be finding his stride once again. Two consecutive 100+ rushing efforts is further proof of that. Johnson currently ranks second in the NFL with 596 yards rushing. All said, the Titans own the third best scoring offense in the NFL with 27 points per game.

The Tennessee defense has seen a resurgence this season although their pass defense is still amongst the bottom third. The defense has generated a league leading 22 sacks and is giving up the fourth lowest average points in the NFL (16.3).

Betting Prediction:

Philadelphia is 4-1 S/U in their last five games and is 6-2 S/U on the road in their last eight games. However, they are just 3-6 ATS in their last nine games overall.

Tennessee is 12-4 S/U in their last 16 games, is 6-3 S/U in their last nine at home but are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games at LP Field. The Titans are 2-4 ATS in their last six games against Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0 on the road this season and the Titans are a disappointing 1-2 at home. Kevin Kolb is finding his groove and should be able to exploit the weak Tennessee passing defense in this one. The Eagles have been OK versus the run and know that they must stop Chris Johnson in order to have any success. Watch for the Eagles to stack the box and dare Vince Young to beat them with his arm. With no confidence in Young, I’ll take the Eagles.

Betting Pick: Philadelphia Eagles +3
