The Indianapolis Colts are hitting their stride and with their first COMPLETE team effort in Week 2, the Denver Broncos have to be a little frightened. Indianapolis finally ran the ball with efficiency, they threw the ball with typical flash and they managed to keep the pressure on the Giants offense all night long.
We know that the Colts passing game will be strong all season long. The huge question mark was always going to be the running game. 
With Joseph Addai and Donald Brown delivering big time last week, the concerns have been put to rest for the time being at least.
The Colts should be able to attack the Broncos through the air and on the ground on Sunday, especially since the Broncos best run stopper Elvis Dumerville is out for the season and Champ Bailey is questionable at best to play on Sunday.
The Denver Broncos have exceeded expectations in the passing game so far this season but they running game has yet to impress. Knowshon Moreno gained only 51 yards on 24 attempts against Seattle and now has just a 2.8 yards per carry average on the season. Hopes are that Laurence Maroney can inject some life into a running game that will be key for success against Indianapolis.
Kyle Orton, Demaryius Thomas and Eddie Royal will get their yards but without a strong running game to chew up the clock and keep Peyton Manning off the field, the Broncos could be in for a long afternoon.
The Broncos defense is in shambles. Despite a decent effort against Seattle last week, Denver has allowed an average of 121.5 yards per game on the ground while only generating two sacks so far this season. It doesn’t sound like a recipe for success against Peyton Manning and the boys.
Prediction:
The Indianapolis Colts started slowly this season but appear to be rounding into form. There is certainly a formula for defeating the Colts – run the ball, control the clock and keep the Indianapolis offense off the field. With an underwhelming running game, the Colts will be able to concentrate on stopping Kyle Orton.
Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis should have their way with the Broncos offensive line and without a strong passing attack, the Broncos are dead in the water. With Champ Bailey possibly missing the game, Peyton Manning will shred the Broncos through the air.
With the passing game softening up the Denver defense, the running game should be able to produce enough yards to keep the Broncos off balance.
