Five 2014 NFL Matchups YOU Need To Bet On

NFL Futures Gambling Anyone?

The start of the 2014 NFL season is still a ways away, but lines are already available as far out as Week 16 (lines aren’t yet set for Week 17 because it’s too early to predict whether teams will have something to play for, making those lines too difficult to set).

There are also totals set for Week 1, leaving bettors with plenty to choose from. This presents a great opportunity for bettors to get ahead of the books and take a look at some strong scenarios down the road.

Here’s a look at five games that may be worth considering even before the teams hit the field.

Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (-7)

The Broncos had more trouble with the Chiefs than anyone is really willing to admit last season.

The Chief defense has what it takes to keep this game close, and the Broncos may be more concerned with just getting out of town with a win than running up the score as they’ve got a Super Bowl rematch with the Seattle Seahawks on deck.

Week 4: New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs (-1)

CenturyLink Field in Seattle gets all the headlines, but Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City is a tough place to play as well. The Chiefs will be hosting their first prime time game in three years against a Patriots team that has been bothered by crowd noise in the past.

Week 9: San Diego Chargers at Miami Dolphins (-2.5)

The Chargers have been in a bit of a unique spot the last couple of seasons in that they have been one of the few teams that have been able to give the Denver Broncos a ride for their money whenever the teams hit the field.

This game presents a tough spot for the Chargers, who take to the road to visit the divisional-rival Broncos in Week 8, then take on the rising Dolphins in Week 9 in a second consecutive road contest, which is always tough. That’s in addition to the lookahead factor, as the Chargers will be on their bye in Week 10.

Week 13: Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (even)

The Buccaneers are expected to be an improved club this season under Lovie Smith, and returning running back Doug Martin and rookie wide receiver Mike Evans should add some juice to the team’s offense.

In this game, they’ll get a Bengals team playing its third consecutive road game, with a definite lookahead factor as they host the divisional-rival Pittsburgh Steelers the very next week.

Week 14: San Francisco 49ers (-7) at Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have the most difficult schedule in the NFL this season, but the schedule makers did them a real favor with the way this contest is set up.

The 49ers host the Seahawks in Week 13, then go to Seattle to do battle with the Seahawks again the very next week.

The 49ers have some demons to exorcise in Seattle, so the lookahead factor is going to be very really. Getting a touchdown cushion to back an improving 49ers squad in this Bay Area rivalry given the circumstances certainly stands out as favorable.
