The Titans (3-4) suffered their third straight loss following a 31-17 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers last time out.

Quarterback  Jake Locker started for the first time since injuring his knee and hip Sept. 29, against the Jets, and threw for 326 yards and two TDs. He has now gotten some much-needed rest following a Tennessee bye week will aim to get the Titans back on track.

And although the young gun has an impressive 8-to-1 touchdowns-to-interceptions rate, he will need to employ the services of his teammates if he wants to right Tennessee’s sinking playoff hopes.

Kendall Wright made nine receptions for 98 yards, and Chris Johnson had four catches for 71 yards and a score to go with 39 yards rushing on nine carries versus San Francisco. And if they can carry that momentum , along with a resurgence of struggling running back Chris Johnson, the Titans may have a decent shot of upsetting a Rams team that suffered its second straight loss to Seattle last weekend.

St. Louis dropped a close one to the Seahawks, 14-9, after the Rams failed to get into the endzone twice from the 1-yard line on the final two plays of the game.

The Rams (3-5)  dominated play in the opening half, limiting the Seahawks to 38 yards of total offense  while coming up with four quarterback sacks.

Defensive end Robert Quinn recorded his third three-sack game of his career, giving him 10 for the season, ranking him fourth in the NFL.

The entire defense was stingy, allowing Seattle just 135 yards for the game– 80 of them coming on one play.

Meanwhile, the offense was piloted by quarterback Kellen Clemens, who will once again start for injured starter Sam Bradford who is out with a season-ending knee injury.

Clemons went 15-of-31 for 158 yards and two interceptions against Seattle in his 13th career start.

Too add the Rams offensive woes, running back Zac Stacy, who  rushed for a career-best 134 yards against Seattle, may miss Sunday’s game against the Titans, after twisting an ankle.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The oddmakers have the Rams pegged as -3 point favorites in this one. And despite having to play without Bradford, and possibly  Stacy, I expect the St. Louis defense to be able to come up with enough stops against a Titans team that is averaging just 15.7 points in their last three contests, to squeak out a win.

Rams 27, Titans 24
