Bucs

Tampa Bay (0-2) have lost two close ones, including a 2-point loss to the Rams on Week 1.The Bucs followed that up with a 20-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week.

The big reason Tampa Bay isn’t winning is obvious, they simply aren’t getting enough offense to compliment their defense, that held the St. Louis to just 19 points.

Quarterback Josh McCown leads an offense that ranks 31st in the league in passing yards, completing just 67.9 percent of his passes. McCown has also tossed three interceptions, while the Buccaneers have just scored 31 combined points in their first two games.

As if that weren’t enough, adding more misery to the Bucs’ offensive woes is the fact that their running game — minus running back Doug Martin who missed last week with a leg injury — ranks 10th in the NFL with just 259 total yards.

This all means the Tampa Bay defense is under pressure. And considering how much time they have spent on the field, the unit has done well allowing 336.5 yards.

They will however, face their biggest test thus far of the season when they tangle with the Falcons.

Falcons

Atlanta (1-1) sere scoring at will ranking 9th in total points scored heading into Week 3, as well as No. 1 in the NFL in total offensive yards with 877.

As a team they have rolled up 47 points in their first two games of the 2014 season.

The Falcons, however, much like Tampa Bay lack a serious running threat and seem to be a one dimensional offense right now. They have just one rushing touchdown in their first two games, which was a major reason they were beaten by the Bengals last weekend on the road.

Still, they are getting plenty of effort from quarterback Matt Ryan, who gives the team the second best passing offense in the NFL.

Ryan has completed 63.2 percent of his passes for a league-best 678 passing yards to go along with four touchdowns.

Defensively, the Falcons fall short though, especially against the pass, were they rank 31st in the league in passing yards allowed.

Week 3 NFL Football Total Prediction

This one pits two teams that are much better offensively than defensively, with both preferring to air the ball out versus running it.

That should make for a high-scoring affair, as this one goes OVER with the Falcons are winning this one by a touchdown.
