The Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Redskins at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon. This game has long been headlined as the return of DeSean Jackson to Philadelphia after getting the boot from the team in the offseason, but the Redskins’ quarterback situation has taken some of that attention away.

Jackson left the team’s 41-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a Grade 1 sprain of the AC joint in his left shoulder, but he’ll be in the lineup come Sunday to face off with the team that cut him in late March.

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was dealt a more serious injury, as he dislocated his ankle in that game, and is expected to miss quite a bit of time. The team’s first-round selection in the 2012 draft, Griffin will be replaced by Kirk Cousins, a Michigan State product who was selected in the seventh round of that same draft.

On the other side, the Eagles are flying high after a big comeback win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night, and will be looking to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2004.

If they hope to do that, they’ll likely need to do a better job of showing up for the start of the game. The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to overcome double-digit halftime deficits to start the season 2-0.

Quarterback Nick Foles has been a big part of the team’s ability to claw its way back into games. Foles completed 21-of-37 passes for 331 yards in that contest.

He’ll need another solid day to match the quarterback on the other side, as Cousins completed 22-of-33 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Griffin last week.

With that said, Foles has guided the Eagles to a 9-1 record in regular season games since Nov. 3, with the team averaging league-highs in points with 33.0 per game, and total yards with 437.7. They’re also 5-0 at home in that span, and this Redskins team has dropped seven in a row on the road.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy certainly likes seeing the Redskins on the schedule – he ran for 261 yards and three touchdowns against them last season.

Free Philadelphia vs. Washington Pick:

The Eagles have been playing fast and loose with the start times of their games, and if they’re going to continue covering spreads, they’ll need to show up for the kickoff of their games.

This Redskins squad looked good with Cousins under center last week, and they Eagles will need a good all-around effort to cash this ticket, but with that said, expect them to do it.

The Eagles are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings between these teams, while the Redskins are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games.

The 4* NFL Play: Eagles -6.5
