Week 4 Odds: Miami vs Oakland in London

The Raiders have had trouble scoring points with rookie QB Derek Carr and they just lost to NE (16-9).
This game is being played at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Both teams will be on a bye next week although the travel across the pond will still be tough at this point of the regular season.

Lamar Miller carried the football 15 times for 108 rushing yards in a losing effort against KC. It was a good sign, as Knowshon Moreno is still out. This is the type of game that Miller needs to play hard in.
First off, the game is England and the offense will want to lean on the RB. Oakland is also one of the worst teams against the run (158.7 RYPG – 31st) whereas they’re secondary has held up (183.3 PYPG – 4th).

The run game may be fine, but Ryan Tannehill is at risk of losing his job. Miami is averaging 190.0 PYPG (29th) and Tannehill has yet to throw for over 250+ passing yards in a game.
Teams haven’t had to test the Raiders secondary too much because they’ve been able to run to keep the chains moving. I expect Tannehill to be on a short leash and limited to high percentage throws.
Derek Carr hasn’t been playing well either. Oakland averages the same as Miami through the air. Carr has completed a higher percentage of his passes, but he has 3 INT’s while Tannehill has 2 INT’s.
Miami’s defense should win this game for them if they come to Wembley ready to play. Miami has given up 198.7 PYPG (7th) and 125.3 RYPG (20th). They have had some trouble stopping the run.
Thankfully for the Dolphins, the Raiders only average 64.3 RYPG (31st). I don’t imagine that a trip across the pond is going to help Oakland get on track. Miami should be able to dominate in this game.

These two teams don’t play often, but the Dolphins are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings. Oakland still hasn’t exceeded 14 points in a game this season and I don’t see that changing in London.

Miami can stop the pass well and Oakland’s run game isn’t going to scare anyone. Miller will have a big game on the ground and the Dolphins will be able to control this game from start to finish.
