They welcome the surprise Dallas Cowboys and their 4-1 record to town as the Boys look to stake a claim as one of the teams to watch in the NFC. Let’s break down one of the most intriguing matchups of Week 6.

Cowboys

It isn’t much of a secret as to what the Dallas Cowboys will try to do on Sunday afternoon.

Run the ball! Through five games the Cowboys have averaged 160 yards on the ground – a total of 800 yards on the season so far! DeMarco Murray has been sensational – 670 yards and five touchdowns already. Murray and company are in for a stiff challenge from Seattle’s insane defense – Seattle has a habit of making even the best look bad.

If Murray can’t get anything going it is going to be up to Tony Romo to get it done. Romo has exceeded all expectations this season – he as a league third best 80.4 QB rating and he has been avoiding the insane turnover – for the most part.

Dez Bryant versus Richard Sherman is the juiciest of matchups. Bryant has 32 catches, 376 yards and 4 TDs already this year but will face his toughest test to date. Terrence Williams could be the X-factor here.

He has been a terrific secondary option from Romo and has proven dangerous.

Dallas’s defense is holding its own – not as bad as many thought they would be but still susceptible to the big play. They Cowboys are giving up a ton of yards on the ground – not a good sign when a game against Seattle looms.

Seahawks

Anybody that saw the Seattle Seahawks on Monday knows about how dynamic this club is. Russell Wilson stole the show Monday – had 122 yards on 11 carries with a TD and he also threw for two TDs. Wilson seems to have total control on the football field – nearly impossible to defend.

The rushing game has been the straw that stirs the drink again this season – nobody has slowed Marshawn Lynch and the Hawks running game yet – they have a league best 167 yards per game on the ground and look like a complete mismatch for Dallas’s weak run defense.

Seattle’s passing game would have been a little more relevant on the stat sheet Monday night if not for three TDs that were called back because of penalties. Percy Harvin is still looking like a true difference maker – one that the Hawks lacked during their Super Bowl run.

So who do you choose to shut down if you are Dallas? I’m not sure either.

There may be some cracks on the Seattle defense. Philip Rivers had some success against them, Peyton Manning exposed them a tad and Kirk Cousins threw for 283 yards and two TDs last week. The names on this defense are better than their stats suggest.

Seattle’s defense is top tier any way you slice it – by far the biggest test Dallas will face this year.

Week 6 Betting Trends

• Under is 8-1 in SEA last 9 vs. NFC.
• Under is 7-2 in SEA last 9 games on fieldturf.
• SEA are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 vs. NFC.
• Underdog is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings

Seattle has won 19 of their last 20 games on home turf – they are absolute money in front of the 12th man. That said – teams tend to play Seattle tough at CenturyLink.

NFL Week 6 Betting Prediction

Although I like Seattle to get the win I am expecting Tony Romo to step up and keep this one close.
