Divisional Round Playoff NFL Lines: Baltimore vs. Indianapolis

Point spread, ATS odds, and moneyline betting and preview article for the 2010 Divisional Round NFL playoff clash between the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts…

Saturday NFL Betting –  Ravens No Match For Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have been rusty a few times coming off of bye weeks and heading into playoff games but this year might be different.

Head coach Jim Caldwell decided to start resting his players in Week 15 instead of aiming for a perfect regular season score and the difference should pay off in the first round of the playoffs.

The Ravens are no slouches, but they are nicked up and aren’t 100%. Meanwhile, the Colts should be fresh and healthy, and far crisper in this contest.

Ravens offense versus Colts defense

One key injury that the Ravens are dealing with is Joe Flacco’s hip. He has been hobbling in practice and it – along with a leg injury – is clearly bothering him.

Last week, Flacco was just 4-of-10 for 34 yards and an interception, which he got away with, but this week will be a little different. The Ravens can’t be one-dimensional in this game and expect to win it. The Colts will focus on shutting down their rushing attack and they will have to make plays in the passing game to win. They couldn’t do it in Week 11 when the two teams met in Baltimore but they’ll have to do it this week if they want to win.

Colts offense versus Ravens defense

The Ravens feasted on weak opponents this year and struggled against the league’s best. Even with last week’s win, the Ravens are just 2-6 against playoff teams this year. Last time they were in Indy, they left with a 31-3 loss.

The Colts have a huge edge on the outside this week with their group of wide receivers versus the Ravens depleted secondary. The Ravens have already put two starting corners on injured reserve this year.

The Colts will get their share of points in this contest and the Ravens will have a tough time keeping up.

Outlook & Pick

The Colts are out to prove a point: resting their starters had value. They’ll do exactly that if they can obliterate the Ravens and that will likely be the plan.

If Flacco’s hip is truly a problem, this will be a blowout. In the first meeting this season, the Colts didn’t let the Ravens run and it’s hard to see them allowing it this time around.

Considering this is the Ravens third straight road game, this has the makings of a one-sided affair.

Pick: Colts -7
