Cleveland Browns vs. Dallas Cowboys Preview

Cleveland has lost 11 straight road games and to snap that streak they will have to beat a Cowboys’ team that racked up 38 points and had a solid well-balanced attack in the win over the Eagles. NFL lines have the Cowboys as 8-point favorites with a total of 43.5.

In their last games the Cowboys beat the Eagles 38-23 and the Browns lost to the Baltimore Ravens 25-15.

This season the Browns are 4-4-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-6 and the Cowboys are 4-5 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 4-5.

The Cowboys are trying to win consecutive games for the first time all season and in the Eagles win Tony Romo passed for nearly 200 yards with a couple of TD’s and Felix Jones finally had a good game rushing for 93 yards. However, the Cowboys scored 3 TD’s not on offense with 2 coming on defense and 1 coming on special teams.

Romo has a slew of solid targets and the Cleveland pass defense only ranks 22nd in the league. Dallas needs to establish the run and Jones has to be confident facing a Browns’ run defense that only ranks 27th in the league.

The Cowboys have been plagued by the turnover this season, but Tony Romo, who leads the league in INT, has not been picked off in his last 2 games.[soliloquy id=”82219″]

Brandon Weeden has struggled in his last couple of games not passing for a TD and completing less than 50% of his passes. It does not help that the Browns have one of the weakest WR corps in the league, The Cowboys’ pass defense does rank 8th in the league, but they gave up 278 yards through the air in the win over the Eagles.

RB Trent Richardson has rushed for over 100 yards in each of his last 2 games and Cleveland will need to establish the run in this game. The Cowboys have a decent run defense ranking 13th in the league.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Browns are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 road games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, and they have an Under record of 15-5-1 in their last 21 games.

The Cowboys are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games, 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall, and they have an Over record of 14-6 in their last 20 home games.

Jason’s Pick: The Cowboys have not covered the spread in their last 6 home games, but that will change, as I think they will go on a run and that will start in this game with them winning and also covering.
