2015 Redskins Preview & NFL Football Future Lines & Pick

2015 Washington Redskins Season Predictions

The mortgaging of the future for Robert Griffin III still plagues the Washington Redskins – the Football Gods are punishing them for some odd reason – maybe it’s the logo, maybe owner Dan Snyder is being paid back for something he did in a past life. The Washington Redskins ranked 26th in points scored last season and 29th in points allowed – ugly indeed.

The Skins are 7-25 the last two years with seemingly little optimism going forward – Coach Jay Gruden looks like a dead-man-walking and the team looks as though they should struggle yet again this upcoming season.

The good news is that the Skins made some good moves this past offseason – from the front office to the coaching staff to the players on the field. Washington SHOULD be better this year – but we’ve said that before haven’t we? So where do we see the 2015 Skins ending up? Let’s take a look.

It has been said before and it will be said again – the NFL is a quarterback driven league and with Robert Griffin III guiding the ship, the prospect for a winning season take an automatic hit. Simply put, Griffin II doesn’t seem to have the work ethic or the mental side of the game required to be a team leader! Keep in mind that Griffin was benched for Kirk Cousins last year and in his career has turned the ball over 26 times while throwing for 26 TDs – not good!

Griffin’s weapons have been just OK since he came into the league – DeSean Jackson is hit-or-miss, Pierre Garcon did a disappearing act last season and Tight End Jordan Reed just can’t seem to stay healthy. The offensive line has been one of the worst in the league by a wide margin the last few years and the running game has done nothing to bail it QB out.

The running game took a hit when Roy Helu left for the Raiders. That leaves a pretty underwhelming Alfred Morris and a rookie – Matt Jones to carry the load. With a brutal O-line in place – it is hard to imagine these guys getting much room to roam.

Translation – it could be ugly offensively in Washington.

Now for the defense. How bad were they last year? How about surrendering 27.4 points per game last season. Yuk! The Redskins did make some moves to better themselves – getting rid of Jim Haslett may be the best move they made. Dashon Goldson Terrance Knighton of the Broncos and Chris Culliver of the 49ers are in – each guy could be good or could be bad on this dysfunctional team.

The Redskins had a ton to do in the offseason to make the defense viable – they did only a little bit. Washington’s defense will be bad again – almost guaranteed.

Redskins 2015 Prediction:

By now you may get the idea that I have little faith in Washington in 2015 – you’d be right. Jay Gruden proved nothing last year in his ability to control the circus that is the Washington Redskins. Robert Griffin is who he is, the offensive line is awful and the defense, although slightly improved has a chance to be the worst in football again.

It’s gonna be a long season Redskins fans – at least you will get a high draft pick next year! This has all the makings of a 3-13 season.
