2015 Browns Preview & NFL Football Future Lines & Pick

2015 Cleveland Browns Season Predictions

In 2014, the Cleveland Browns were having a phenomenal season through 11 games. Sitting at 7-4 with sole possession of first place, Brian Hoyer flopped in game 12 and was essentially booed out of his starting role.

The wheels fell off and Cleveland was back to working with backup quarterbacks. Cleveland lost their final 5 games of the season and once again finished in the cellar of the AFC North.

This being the second-year under head coach Mike Pettine, the Browns have chosen a different path than Brian Hoyer at QB and will have more depth as they made some moves in the offseason.

One of those moves was signing QB Josh McCown to a 3 year deal. If anything, McCown can bring veteran leadership, something that will help out Sophomore QB Johnny Manziel. McCown was with the Bears back in 2013 when he played his best football, but was never really to get himself going in 2014. He’ll be competing with Manziel for the starting role, as Manziel has done a lot for himself this past off season.

The QB checked himself into rehab and has cleaned up his act as he tries to fix his NFL career.

At the running back position Cleveland doesn’t have a solidified No. 1. Last season Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell shared the load and show signs of brilliance at times. West rushed for 637 yards and Crowell went for 607.

This season, Duke Johnson will be the 3rd man to have a chance to add to the fuel.

As far as wide receiving goes, the Browns did their job in terms of signing the necessary free agents in the offseason. They brought on WR Dwayne Bowe, who was the go to man in Kansas City for years and Brian Hartline from Miami.

Andrew Hawkins will likely have the slot position as he will be in his 2nd year with the Browns.

After losing TE Jordan Cameron, the position is filled with thin depth, and inexperience. Likely getting the start there will be Rob Houser, who they brought in during the offseason.

The defense lost Buster Skrine to the Jets, but will still bring back a solid core. Joe Haden leads the way for them as he has been the most potential playmaker defensively for Cleveland over the past few years.

Justin Gilbert will be a key for Cleveland this season as his rookie campaign was a mess and it looks as if the Browns wasted a high draft pick on him. Can he rebound and become a big part of the defensive core?

2015 Cleveland Browns Season Prediction:

The Browns offensively are just so far away. Bowe and Hartline are upgrades from what they’ve had, but they aren’t big playmakers.

With so many questions at QB and RB, it’s just too tough to compete in a division that sent 3 teams to the playoffs last season.

Cleveland will sit with 4 or 5 wins in 2015 and be in the bottom of the AFC North once again.
