2015 Bills Preview & NFL Football Future Lines & Pick

2015 Buffalo Bills Season Predictions

Finishing 9-7 was a successful season for the 2014 Buffalo Bills, but they’ll be the first ones to tell you that is false. Despite a 2 game over .500 record, the Bills did not make the playoffs as the pack AFC featured many 10 win teams.

A new era has begun in Buffalo this coming season as Rex Ryan has taken over the head coaching duties. Former head coach Doug Marrone decided to opt out of his contract thinking his 9-7 record would get him hired elsewhere for more money. However, he thought wrong and is now sitting as an offensive line coach in Jacksonville.

Buffalo had one of the best off seasons. They signed and traded for some key parts and have seriously solidified their themselves into major contenders.

Their biggest competition in the division, the New England Patriots, have their own drama to deal with which could open the door. Following the deflategate incident, Tom Brady will miss the opening 4 games of the season. That’s good news for the Bills as they get a chance to really make a statement and get out of the gate quickly.

At the Quarterback position, the Bills now have the depth and a solid balance between veteran and rookie. As far as the veteran side is concerned, Matt Cassel had just little action last season after being traded from Minnesota to Buffalo. He’s shown over his career the leadership he can bring to a team and will likely be the front runner to start this season.

Along with him though and not too far behind him is the younger EJ Manuel. Manuel was drafted first overall in 2013 and has shown some signs of growing pains, but has also had signs of brightness. In his second season he threw for 838 yards and 5 touchdowns. His duel threat option is a major plus for Buffalo’ offense.

When talking about the trading of key parts this past off season, the Bills acquired Lesean McCoy in a shocking deal. McCoy was dealt without any type of warning and will play with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. In 2014, McCoy rushed for over 1300 yards and 5 touchdowns. Those numbers are no slack and McCoy should be poised for another big season.

Wide Receiver wise, Robert Woods and Sammy Watkins offer the Bills a lot of speed and big play ability. They also brought in Percy Harvin who offers the same qualities as his 2 new teammates. These three alone can make the Bills offense so threatening and if they get into the open field, look out.

Defensively, the Bills will switch back to a 3-4 under Ryan. Rex Ryan runs into a solid defensive core that features a solid linebacking and secondary core.

The defense will offer a solid pass rush with the likes of Mario Williams and will be able to cause the opposition many problems.

Bills 2015 Season Prediction:

The Bills on paper are a very solid team. However, the QB position will be the biggest key right now. It’s still uncertain whether Cassel or Manuel will start this season.

Buffalo has a chance to make a splash early in the division with Tom Brady suspended, but they still probably don’t have enough to beat them over the season span.

Expect another 9-7 or 10-6 season with the Bills being a Wild Card team.
