Is the 2010 NFL Draft class one of the most hyped in recent memory? Or am I just saying that because I’m excited, like I am every year?

Either way, plenty of sportsbooks have cool prop bets up for this Thursday’s primetime event.

Here are my picks for some of them.

HOW MANY OFFENSIVE PLAYERS WILL BE TAKEN IN ROUND ONE?

Over 15.5: +125

Under 15.5: -165

I was surprised to see “over” as the underdog here. With so many quarterbacks and, especially, a boatload of hyped offensive lineman on the board, I see an offensive craze in round one.

Pick: Over 15.5 +125

HOW MANY QUARTERBACKS WILL BE TAKEN IN ROUND ONE?

Over 2.5: +185

Under 2.5: -270

We may as well rephrase this prop: Will Tim Tebow go in round one? We know Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen will. I’m still banking on someone taking a silly chance and grabbing Tebow. Maybe Buffalo or Jacksonville?

Pick: Over 2.5 +185

HOW MANY WIDE RECEIVERS WILL BE TAKEN IN ROUND ONE?

Over 2.5: +173

Under 2.5: -235

Aside from Dez Bryant, few wideouts have gotten consistent first-round hype from one expert’s mock draft to the next. So I’d be surprised to see more than Bryant and Demaryius Thomas come off the board before round two.

Pick: Under 2.5 -235

WILL SAM BRADFORD BE THE NO. 1 OVERALL PICK?

Yes: -1200

No: +550

This isn’t like a championship fight where the challenger (in this case – “no”) has a puncher’s chance. We’re all well-educated on St. Louis’ intentions of grabbing Bradford. It would take something insane to change that choice between now and Thursday.

Pick: Yes -1200

PROP SPECIAL: OVER/UNDER DRAFT POSITIONS

You can find over/under draft position props for almost any projected first-rounder. Here are a few examples:

Jimmy Clausen

Over 9.5: -105

Under 9.5: -135

Pick: Over 9.5. I think the Bills will let him slip by and take a silly chance on someone else. Could it really be Tebow? Gulp. Mobile Betting at Sportsbook.com

Joe Haden

Over 12.5: -150

Under 12.5: +110

Pick: Over 12.5. Barely. I see San Francisco grabbing Haden at 13th overall.

Tim Tebow

First round: +200

Second round: -200:

Third round: +300

Fourth round or later: +800

Pick: First round +200. Maybe I’m crazy, but we see bizarre reaches every season.

And are you telling me Darrius Heyward-Bey had more hype around him than Tebow?

Yet DHB somehow went before Michael Crabtree last year.

PROP SPECIAL: HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHUPS

Another common prop you’ll find is head-to-head matchups between two similar players (usually at similar positions) in which you can bet on which player will be drafted first.

Some examples:

Who will be drafted first?

Ndamukong Suh: -600

Gerald McCoy: +350

Pick: McCoy +350. This is a risky bet for sure but I believe the Lions will pass and opt for an O-lineman. I also believe Tampa has its heart set on McCoy no matter what.

But what do I know?

Russell Okung: -700

Trent Williams: +400

Pick: Russell Okung -700.

Based on my logic about Suh, I believe Detroit will opt for Okung at No. 2 overall.

Arguably the biggest story line heading into this year’s NFL Draft involves a quarterback who won’t even be the first, second or possibly third player taken at his own position. Of course we refer to former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow of Florida, as his status remains very unpredictable with the draft set to begin Thursday night in New York. And Tebow’s draft position is one of many draft props available on Bodog’s NFL odds.

Tebow is one of the most decorated college football players ever and there is no more marketable player in this year’s draft, but you won’t find a consensus on whether he can play quarterback in the NFL. The lefty already has changed his throwing mechanics in an effort to fix one major flaw that NFL scouts have harped on. Tebow’s bruising running style simply won’t work in the NFL, and he rarely took a snap under center at Florida. So who will take a chance on him and when? Bodog lists Tebow going between picks 30 and 50 as the -200 betting favorite. The Jaguars have long been rumored as a destination, as Jacksonville is Tebow’s hometown and the franchise has had trouble selling tickets. Tebow would help fix that.

There is little doubt how the top three picks will play out beginning Thursday night as the draft moves to prime-time TV and over three days for the first time. Former Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford will go No. 1 overall – but will it be to St. Louis or possibly Cleveland? Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy should go No. 2 and No. 3 in whichever order. But at pick No. 4 the draft should get interesting. How many more quarterbacks will go in the first round? You can bet on the futures of guys like Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen and Texas’ Colt McCoy. Clemson running back C.J. Spiller will be a first-round pick, but will a second tailback get selected in Round 1? You can bet on that and many more draft scenarios on Bodog’s NFL Draft Odds.
