BetUS NCAA Football Betting Odds: LOUISVILLE -6.5, Total 55.5

Here are some of the NCAA college football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* LOU has lost four of its last six road games SU
* LOU has played four of its last six road games UNDER the total
* MEM has won four of its last six home games SU

Also….

* MEM has covered five of the last six meetings
* LOU has won five of the last six meetings SU
* LOU has won four of the last five games SU as the road team

Statistically speaking, Louisville appears to have controlled the line of scrimmage, averaging 5.1 yards per rush, while surrendering only 2.6. Hunter Cantwell was supposed to be better, however. The senior admittedly had a tough act to follow in replacing NFL draftee Brian Brohm (currently with Green Bay), but nonetheless came in with some previous starting experience, and was considered by many scouts to have ideal NFL size and arm strength. But he is at a low completion percentage (58%) with a 5-5 TD-INT ratio.

But the Cards have been moving the ball, rolling up 508 yards against a pretty good Connecticut defense last time out, that coming on the heels of a 577-yard performance against Kansas State nine days before that. Now you have to wonder whether UL, which will have played just one time in a 23-day period when the ball kicks off, will be all that sharp. But that is more of an offensive phenomenon; we think the defense will be only minimally affected.

What Louisville has to worry about on that side is a Memphis team that has been consistent on offense, gaining at least 436 yards in each of its five games, and which has won three games in a row. But while Arkelon Hall may have had a picnic against porous UAB (4 TD passes), he won’t find the sailing as smooth against this Louisville crew, which has held three of four opponents below 300 yards. And Memphis has little chance to stop freshman running back Vic Anderson (7 ypc).

It’s not a big recommendation, but we’ll lay it with Louisville, the 6.5-point favorite in the BetUS NCAA college football betting odds.
