Texas A&M Aggies 2015 NCAA Football Gambling Odds & Predictions

2015-16 Football Previews – (SEC) – Aggies

It’s time for the 2015 Texas A&M Aggies season to open in less than a week. The prolific Texas A&M offense gets set for another season in the SEC. Texas A&M proved to be one of the most dangerous and fast paced teams last season. However, they often found themselves in many shootouts as their defense was a mess.

Can the Aggies get the kinks worked out and compete for a National Title spot?

Preseason ranked #21 Texas A&M has the talent to compete with the top tier teams in the SEC. In fact, some might even call them a top tier team after their offense broke out in 2014.

That dilemma will be answered extremely early as they get a chance to take on Arizona State in an early season Top 25 matchup Week 1.

Along with Arizona State, A&M will get looks at Alabama, LSU, and South Carolina once again in 2015.

Whats keeping the Aggies from being a top team in the nation? Simply, their defense is just bad.

Texas A&M allowed 36.6 points a game in conference play in 2014. Head coach Kevin Sumlin address the problem majorly this past spring as he tries to make his defense as dangerous as his offense.

Team Strengths

Kyle Allen: QB Kyle Allen was a stud his Freshman year in 2014. He was able to not only beat the opposition with his legs, but the freshman proved his arm was just as good of a weapon.

Allen’s incredible Freshman season was highlighted by games against Missouri, Auburn, and West Virginia. Allen threw 3 touchdowns against Missouri and 4 a piece against the Tigers and Mountaineers.

WR Threats: Texas A&M used speed and a no huddle hurry up offense to keep opponents’ defenses off balance. Sophomore Speedy Noil returns as the team’s #2 on the depth chart. Noil offers the Aggies a lot of outside speed and breakaway threats for deep passes down the field.

Along with him, Junior Josh Reynolds returns. In 2014, Reynolds caught 13 touchdown passes, which holds as the school record.

Team Weaknesses

Pushover defense: The Aggies, as stated earlier, were just terrible defensively. Head coach Kevin Sumlin has sat through 2 straight seasons of teams running up and down the field on them.

This past offseason he brought in John Chavis, a defensive coordinator from one of the best SEC defenses at LSU.

Still, Texas A&M has a lot of work to do. They simply cannot stop the big plays from occurring. They’ll rely heavily on DE Myles Garrett, who has proven to be the best pass rusher in arguably all the SEC.

2015 Texas A&M Prediction: 9-3

Yes there are so many question surrounding their defense. However, John Chavis was one of the best defensive play callers at LSU. If he can bring even just a little of that to the Aggies, look out.

With the offense, theres not question they’re going to be good again.

A&M will have to beat Bama and LSU if they hope to stumble upon the SEC Championship this year. At worst, a solid Bowl game is likely for the Aggies, with an outside chance of a BCS appearance.
