The Falcons sure were glad to move into the portion of their schedule in which they play on Tuesdays, laying a beat down on Miami (Ohio) in their first Tuesday contest last week, 45-3.

Bowling Green did what they wanted against Miami (Ohio), outgaining them nearly two-to-one, 447-228. Bowling Green quarterback Matt Johnson completed 20 of 26 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns with an interception, adding an addition score on the ground.

He spread the ball around quite well, with nine different receivers hauling in passes on the night, with three different receivers bringing in touchdown passes. Running back Travis Greene carried the load on the ground, turning 14 totes into 112 yards.

The RedHawks fell to 0-9 with the loss. Their offense never did get going, gaining just 228 yards on the day, as they were held under 100 yards on the ground. The Falcons were also much quicker to balls on the ground, recovering three fumbles in the game.

Meanwhile, Ohio’s last game saw them come out on the opposite end. While the team was a victim of one of the worst safety calls in the history of football, that certainly wasn’t the reason for their 30-3 defeat at the hands of Buffalo. Quarterback Tyler Tettleton completed 14 of 31 passes for just 126 yards.

The team’s ground game wasn’t any better, as running back Beau Blankenship was limited to just 68 yards on 20 carries. In total, the Bobcats were limited to just 233 yards of offense on the night.

The Ohio defense wasn’t any better. They allowed the Bulls to rack up 421 yards of offense in the game.

Their biggest problem was with stopping Bulls running back Branden Oliver, who turned 34 runs into 249 yards and two touchdowns, good for an average of 7.3 yards per tote. The team didn’t throw the ball much, but had success when they did take to the air, particularly when looking Alex Neutz’s way.

He brought in only four balls but made the most of them, racking up 79 yards and two scores.

While Bowling Green and Ohio may have similar records, there remains a significant talent gap between these two programs. While Ohio has made major strides forward over the last couple seasons, they still aren’t up to the level of Bowling Green, pull away late to finish with a comfortable win in this contest.

The Falcons are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings between these teams.

The play: Bowling Green -9.5
