The Badgers made their mark on both the Big Ten and National Championship race by beating Ohio State last weekend. Wisconsin now has a chance to get back into the Big Ten title picture, but they’ll need to beat Iowa as well. Can they do it two weeks in a row?
Wisconsin ran all over the Ohio State defense last weekend. The Badgers have the best offensive line in the Big Ten, and they’ll meet a great defensive line in the Iowa Hawkeyes this week. The battle in the trenches should be as hard hitting as you will ever see this weekend. John Clay and James White are both great runners for Wisconsin, but I think Clay is the back who will get the most action in this game. The Badgers will need Scott Tolzien and the passing game to keep the Hawkeyes defense honest if they are going to win this game.
Wisconsin’s defense suffered a major loss when Chris Borland went down for the season a few weeks ago. The Badgers defense is still pretty solid, and they have been holding their own of late. They can expect a lot of play action passing from the Hawkeyes in this one, so they must stay in their lanes or they could get beat deep. Can this defense force some turnovers?
They will probably need to in order to pull off the win. 
Iowa
The Iowa Hawkeyes control their own destiny in the race for the Big Ten title. Iowa will host Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Ohio State at Kinnick Stadium this year. Iowa is 48-9 in their last 57 home games, so they definitely have a great home field advantage.
The Iowa offense is led by senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi. Stanzi made it his goal in the offseason to improve his efficiency and cut down on turnovers. Thus far this year Stanzi has done a brilliant job. He has a completion percentage of 68.3% and he has thrown just two interceptions all year. The Iowa running game has been improving each week. Adam Robinson is averaging 4.8 yards per carry, and he already has eight rushing touchdowns this year. The offensive line is strong as it always is under Kirk Ferentz. This is a solid ball-control style of offense.
The Hawkeyes defense is probably the best in the Big Ten. I think this defensive line may be the best in the entire country. Clayborn, Klug, Binns, and Ballard all get into the backfield with regularity, and they will make life difficult for Scott Tolzien. The matchup of the Wisconsin offensive line against this great defensive line is something I am really looking forward to seeing. Tyler Sash is a great safety who leads the secondary. If you are going to beat Iowa you usually will have to do it by efficiently throwing the ball. This is a very good defensive unit.
The Pick:
This is the game I am most looking forward to this weekend. These two programs are definitely a mirror image of each other. Expect a lot of running of the football and some solid defense in this one. I like the under here.
