Nevada Wolf Pack vs. Arizona Wildcats Gambling Prediction & New Mexico Bowl Preview

Wolf Pack vs Wildcats College Football Spread/Handicapping

Some of the early bowl games wind up being the best and I think this is a good candidate.  Both teams can put points on the board and are not that far from home so there should be a good atmosphere for this Bowl Season kickoff.

Nevada

As long as they keep running that Pistol offense to perfection I am going to be a big fan of Nevada.  Unfortunately while they enjoyed a pretty fair season overall they just killed bettors with their 3-9 ATS record.

If you will recall though, you read it right here to jump on them in their finale against Boise, their first ATS win in a while, to close the regular season…

Amongst the great running teams in the country not many have the balance of the Wolf Pack.  They run and pass for more than 240ypg and have some of the more underrated weapons in QB Cody Fajardo and back Stefphon Jefferson.

If you can’t solve them they will gouge you all night long and it isn’t pretty…

I was surprised that the number was so great in this one given that Arizona is hardly a dominating defensive team.

Sure they represent a “power” conference but are they much better than Cal who Nevada upset as a 12 point underdog in a true road game earlier this season.

I don’t think so.[soliloquy id=”82219″]

Arizona

The Wildcats had a very interesting season.  They started with nice wins against Toledo and Oklahoma State but drew a very tough opening to PAC 12 plays with consecutive games against Oregon, Oregon State and Stanford.

The Ducks clobbered them but the other two were close and the losses probably took their emotional toll.

At least they can say they beat USC though…With RichRod at the helm there definitely was some excitement in the desert.

They were a top 20 offense, balanced like Nevada, with a very effective QB/RB combo too.

Running back Ka’Deem Carey might have been the nation’s biggest surprise, quadrupling his rushing production from his freshman to sophomore seasons.

If the defense had been any sharper they could have been a real contender…Which is why I think this number is so out of whack against Nevada.  I envision a back and forth ball game with defenses praying for a break, that likely won’t come.

Bowl games often have sloppy tackling which will make it even easier for both clubs to move the ball neither team has any great trends coming into this one and the programs have never met.

Spread Pick:  Nevada +9.5
