The top four remain untouched. Ohio State dropped three spots despite a win over Navy. They had been ranked as the No. 5 team in the country prior to the Braxton Miller injury.

The biggest move came from Texas A&M, which jumped 12 spots to No. 9 with their upset of South Carolina. Georgia’s victory over Clemson also propelled them forward six spots to No. 6

Let’s take a look at the top 10 teams and their chances of moving up, or down on Sunday when the next set of rankings is released.

1. Florida State Seminoles (1-0, previous: 1)

Florida State looked beatable in its opener, something we didn’t seem much of from the team a year ago. The team had trouble on both sides of the ball. Most concerning was their inability to establish the ground game with Karlos Williams. They get a week off this week with a home date against The Citadel.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide (1-0, previous: 2)

Alabama had more trouble dispatching of West Virginia than Nick Saban surely would have liked. The team will surely have less trouble with Florida Atlantic this week, but there is a lot to be concerned about going forward.

3. Oregon Ducks (1-0, previous: 3)

An easy opener for the Ducks gives way to what will be a tough game against Michigan State. They get it in Eugene, which is a major boon, but Michigan State plays a lot like Stanford, a team that has given the Ducks fits in recent years.

4. Oklahoma Sooners (1-0, previous: 4)

An opening date with Louisiana Tech is hardly anything to write home about. The Sooners didn’t even cover the spread in that game! But the play of quarterback Trevor Knight is a major positive to come out of that one. Another easy matchup against Tulsa awaits.

5. Auburn Tigers (1-0, previous: 6)

Auburn didn’t even need a full dose of Nick Marshall to get past Arkansas. The team’s offense just keeps on rolling regardless of who is at the helm, which is a credit to Gus Malzahn’s system. The team stays home for a matchup that will be tougher than it looks on paper against San Jose State.

6. Georgia Bulldogs (1-0, previous: 12)

A well-deserved week off for the Bulldogs in Week 2. Their win over Clemson was a good, and got them some redemption for last season’s opening week loss. The play of running back Todd Gurley has to have Georgia fans excited.

7. Michigan State Spartans (1-0, previous: 8)

Michigan State looked good against a better than advertised Jacksonville State squad in their opener, but that was in East Lansing. Now, they’ll have to go on the road to take on Oregon in the week’s marquee matchup.

8. Ohio State Buckeyes (1-0, previous: 5)

Ohio State eked out a win without quarterback Braxton Miller in Week 1. The team’s offense looked just fine without Miller, as J.T. Barrett looks like he’ll be the real deal. Replicating the feat against Virginia Tech this weekend is another story. The play of the team’s defensive line really covered up some deficiencies in other areas. The Buckeyes look like they’ll be hanging around in spite of Miller’s absence.

9. Texas A&M Aggies (1-0, previous: 21)

The Aggies actually received two first-place votes – that’s more than even Alabama. Their upset victory over South Carolina makes them the biggest movers of the week. Obviously the voters are buying in on Kenny Hill, who ran Kevin Sumlin’s offensive scheme flawlessly in Columbia.

10. Baylor Bears (1-0, previous: 10)

Baylor took care of business in their opener, but the win came at a cost as quarterback exited with a rib injury. He’s expected to be fine for this upcoming week’s game against Northwestern State, though they won’t really need him for that one.
