Free Prediction: UCF vs. #22 Missouri Point Spreads & Preview

Week 3: Knights vs Tigers Picks

College football Week 3 betting action sees the UCF Knights venturing down to Mizzou to take on Tigers on Saturday. Cappers Picks provides free college football handicapping tips all season long.

A couple of years ago these two programs had a nice battle down in Orlando, won by the Tigers 21-16. Last year both of these teams grossly outperformed expectations. Can they do it again. The winner of this one might be able to.

UCF

UCF has had a long time to think about their loss to Penn State in Ireland and lick their wounds. The task will not get much easier this week as they will be on the road against a better team. It still remains to be seen whether last season’s success was a leading indicator or just a flash in the pan.

After just one game they still have a lot of questions unanswered including the most important one of all – whether they have a quarterback. Though being able to run the ball would help a lot too.

For this one top running back William Stanback is questionable with a toe injury. The Knights had just 25 yards rushing against Penn State and even though they have good receivers with experience that lack of balance really hurts them.

Against Penn State they also got absolutely murdered through the air against a secondary that was supposed to be a strength. Christian Hackenberg may be elite but it was a bit ridiculous and not what we are accustomed to seeing.

Missouri

Mizzou is looking to keep the good times rolling and they have a couple of more tuneup games before SEC play starts. Last week their win over Toledo was fairly impressive.

They were on the road and did what good teams are supposed to do which is get up early and not let the little guys think they have a chance – it was 35-7 in the third quarter.

It was a pretty clean game all around though Maty Mauk tossed a couple of interception on the way to victory.

Though they commanded the game it is a bit concerning that the Tigers gave up over 400 yards of offense and 5 yards per carry against the Rockets. Last year this was a very stout defensive team which took the pressure off the offense.

If they are going to rely more on Maty Mauk to get things done that will be a challenge because he doesn’t have the weapons he did a year ago.

That is why I am leary about being too chalky with the Tigers.

NCAA Football Week #3 Prediction: UCF +10

The value seems to be all on the dog in this one. UCF will stand a little taller than Toledo and correct some of the lapses they had against Penn State.

4* NCAAF Score prediction: Missouri 24 – UCF 21

As long as you are getting +7 or better go with the dogs.
