Arkansas State

The Red Wolves are looking to stay among the unbeatens in the Sun Belt as they head to Lafayette for a rare Tuesday tilt. Thus far Arkansas State has only been beat but Power 5 teams – Tennessee and Miami.

Overall they have been a moneymaker with a 5-1 ATS record and their recent success means they should be on your radar. Just because they can’t keep their coaches doesn’t mean this is not a quality program. They have won or tied the last three league titles.

Though they are having their 5th head coach in the last 4 years the Red Wolves are a fundamentally sound team. This year they are yielding just 20ppg and have been in every game this season, even their losses.

I am not sure I would have made them a favourite on the road but they can definitely win this one. QB Fredi Knighten is coming off his best game of the season.

Lafayette

Playing midweek has been kind to Lafayette last week as they pummeled Texas State last Tuesday. After some less than impressive performances in the nonconference they have looked much better the last couple of weeks and have the right schedule to rip through the league, in fact this might be their greatest challenge as they avoid Georgia Southern altogether.

They will have to play a good game as the Red Wolves rarely give away anything.

It is no surprise that the success of the Cajuns has been in lockstep with QB Terrance Broadway stepping up. His last two games have been his best in terms of completion percentage and if he is smart again with the ball this week they will win again. Lafayette won last year even though Broadway wasn’t much of a factor. This might be his biggest game as a senior so he should be focused and ready to go.
