Western Carolina

Western Carolina can come into this game with their heads held extremely high. After winning just two games in 2013, the Catamounts find themselves heading into their final game of the season with seven wins.

The Catamounts will be finish tied for 2nd in the Southern Conference with a 5-2 record. That is thanks in large part to the play of Junior QB Troy Mitchell.

Mitchell played perhaps his best game of the season last week against VMI where he threw for 339 yards and scored six touchdowns.

While Western Carolina has never really put up any kind of fight in their previous three match ups with Alabama, they did give FBS school South Florida a run for their money in week 1.

QB Troy Mitchell had a career day throwing the ball with 378 yards in a 36-31 losing effort.

Alabama

With just two games left, Alabama is poised for another for another SEC Championship game and possibly an NCAA Playoff berth.

While Nick Saban is a coach that never looks ahead, he is most likely taking at least a peak at his week 14 game against arch rival Auburn.

While Alabama had a couple more off days this week to recover from two tough games, they know the main key for this match up against WCU is to simply keep things rolling.

Playing poorly will get them out of rhythm and lose the momentum they’ve been playing with.

Look for Saban to continuously substitute players in and out and keep the likes of RB TJ Yeldon and WR Amari Cooper healthy and well rested for the stretch run.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • Over is 5-1 in Catamounts last 6 games overall.
  • Crimson Tide are 0-6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games.
  • Under is 5-1 in Crimson Tide last 6 games overall.

Week 13 NCAA Football

With their Strength of Schedule so good, Alabama will not get hurt by playing a weak opponent this week. Alabama will roll in the first half and give their starters some time to rest and get ready for Auburn next week.

Free 4* NCAA Football Pick: Western Carolina +??

Typically when Saban plays opponents like Western Carolina, he’ll come out firing in the first half and run clock in the second half. With a big enough spread, the Catamounts are worth a look.
