For the second straight week, the Seminoles came from behind in the 2nd half and got a late score to seal a win. In state rival Florida, will look to ruin the Seminoles Playoff hopes with an upset road win.

Florida

Ending Florida State’s 26 game winning streak and ending their National Championship hopes would make Florida’s 2014 campaign a great success.

The 6-4 Gators travel to Tallahassee where they handed Florida State their last lost two years ago 37-26. Florida head coach Will Muschamp will endure his final take of this rivalry, as he has been informed he will not return in 2015 to coach the Gators.

The Gator players responded to the news of their head coach not returning with a 52-3 route of Eastern Kentucky in Muschamp’s final game inside the Swamp. They’ll look to continue that inspirational play inside Doak Campbell Saturday.

Florida has played up to the challenge against ranked opponents this season. They handled now #11 Georgia 38-20 and held a 21-21 tie in the third quarter against #1 Alabama before ultimately allowing three straight Crimson Tide touchdowns to end the game.

Florida is 3-1 on the road this season and are allowing just 20.2 points in those 4 games.

Florida State Seminoles

Winning 26 straight games and being an undefeated team should have you as the top team in nation right? Wrong. The committee has failed to give Florida State any respect thus far in 2014. That being said, a win over Florida and in the ACC Championship against Georgia Tech will give Florida State a spot in the BCS Playoff.

Things haven’t been easy for the Seminoles on and off the field. With all the problems with Winston and RB Karlos Williams off the field, Florida State has still managed to find ways to steal wins late.

While QB Jameis Winston hasn’t been a good public figure off the field, his leadership on the field has led the Seminoles to the 12th ranked passing offense in the nation (314.9 yards). In late game situations, Winston has led the Seminoles down the field multiple times with his latest being last week against Boston College.

Florida State is 6-0 in Tallahassee S.U. but are just 1-5 ATS there.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • Gators are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
  • Seminoles are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
  • Favorite is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 meetings.
  • Under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.

While it seems like every week Florida State does something that the media doesn’t like, at the end of the day they still find ways to win on the field. Florida State backers have not been happy with the team this year and laying 7.5 in a rivalry game is tough.

Free 4* NCAA Football Pick: Florida +7.5

Gator players will be up for this game and look to send Muschamp out with a win in this rivalry.

Florida State 27, Florida 24

Continuing the trend of the season, a late Seminole score gives them a S.U. win, but they do not cover the number.
