Alabama

Alabama enters this contest with only one loss this season. That loss came to Ole Miss back on Oct. 4, giving the team a three-game winning streak.

So far this season, the Crimson Tide are averaging 36.5 points per game. That mark is good enough for 19th in the country, but it’s the defense that has deservedly gotten most of the attention.

Entering Week 11, Alabama is second in terms of opponents points allowed per game. They’re giving up just 14 points per contest, and they’re doing it by being 29th in terms of passing yards allowed and second in terms of rushing yards allowed.

Against LSU, the goal will be to stop the run. If the Tide can successfully do that, they’ll have this one in the bag.

LSU

LSU has been extremely one-dimensional this season on offense. Simply put: That’s not how you beat Alabama.

Despite being 26th in terms of rushing yards per contest, the team is just 101st in the nation in passing yards. As a result, the Tigers are averaging 32.8 points per contest, which is good enough for 45th.

Defensively is where this team is making a name for itself. LSU is giving up just 15.9 points per contest.

That number is good enough for fourth in the nation, and it’s the reason it walked away with a three-point win last week against then-ranked No. 3 Ole Miss.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • ALA are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games on grass.

  • Road team is 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 meetings.

Week 10 NCAA Football

LSU’s rushing game versus Alabama’s run defense will be a theme to watch in this one. The Tigers can’t be one-dimensional in this one, but the Crimson Tide are giving up just 2.7 yards per carry this season.

Free NCAA Betting Pick 4* Alabama -6.5

Although the numbers ATS don’t favor Alabama, look for them to come away with a statement win because of their ability to shut down any sort of offensive production from the Tigers.

As good as LSU is — and we saw it last week against Ole Miss — the Crimson Tide are made to stop the run. Although that’s the Tigers’ specialty, they’re going to need a brilliant performance on the ground to make up the difference from the passing game.

Expect a hard-fought game on both sides, but look for Bama to walk away with a win both straight up and against the spread.
