Pittsburgh
The Panthers (1-0) routed Delaware 62-0 in their season opener behind a monster performance from running back James Conner, who led the offense by rushing for 153 yards and four first-half touchdowns.

It was Pittsburgh’s first shutout in nine years.
Rookie quarterback Chad Voytik completed 12-of-15 passes for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his first start for the Panthers, who rolled up over 500 yards of offense, while holding Delaware to just 64.

Wide receiver Tyler Boyd also had a good game until he was sidelined in the second quarter with a dislocated finger in his left hand. That’s going to hurt the Panthers passing attack.
Boyd set school freshman records for receptions and receiving yards last year.
Boston College
Meanwhile, the Eagles (1-0) also won their season opener over UMass 30-7 on Saturday.
Led by quart back Tyler Murphy, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown, BC outgained the Minutemen 511 to 202 yards.
Murphy also performed well in the air, completing 17-of-24 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown. He showed no signs of a sprained throwing shoulder that he suffered last season while in Florida.

Due in part to the Boston College ground assault eased the pressure, by pounding the ball on the ground, allowing the Eagles to control the clock, while hanging onto the ball for over 40 minutes of the game.
