Free Pick: #24 Missouri vs. Toledo Gambling Lines & Handicapping Preview

Week 2:  Missouri vs Toledo

College Football Betting Action for Week #2 included a MAC vs. SEC tilt, Toledo vs. Missouri from the Glass Bowl in Toledo, Ohio. Cappers Picks provides free college football handicapping tips all season long.

It is not too often that a team from the MAC gets a visit from the big bad SEC. This one has some upset potential but Toledo is going to have to be near perfect to pull that off.

Missouri

Even though the Tigers made it all the way to the SEC title game last season expectations for this year are modest.

They graduated their two best defensive players, starting quarterback and their best receiver was kicked off the team. In a league like the SEC that can spell disaster.

Last week they warmed up against and the game went according to plan. This week will be different.

The Tigers will be on the road against a live team not an FCS challenger. Let’s see what Maty Mauk can really do.

In a contest like this I look for the Tigers to try and exploit their physical advantages. They have a typically large offensive line and the Rockets are light up front and especially at linebacker.

If the Tigers can get their running backs going downhill Mauk shouldn’t have to do too much.

Darius White was big last week with two TDs, matching his career total to date. The Tigers will pass just enough to keep the defense honest and it should be enough.

Toledo

The Rockets let New Hampshire hang with them for a half before taking off in the second outscoring their opponents 38-6.

It was a solid debut for transfer QB Philip Ely who will get a chance to show what he could have done against the SEC in this one – he is a former Alabama player. The Rockets are always pretty good on offense and will be at home for this one so they have a chance.

They definitely have to get off to a good start if they are going to compete with Mizzou.

I feel fairly confident in saying that is Toledo is going to win they are going to do so because of their offense. Last year they scored 23 points in a loss at Mizzou and that was against a much better Tigers defense than this one probably is.

They are going to have to at least jump that number to 30 and likely more to stay in this on. If they can get an early lead maybe they can apply some real pressure.

NCAA Football Week 2 Prediction:  4* Free Play on Missouri -6

There is good value with Mizzou as they are on the road and Toledo has a nice buzz. It will all come down to the trenches where they can dominate.

NCAAF Score prediction:  Missouri 38 – Toledo 24

Take the Tigers and don’t wait too long.
