The RedHawks are winless through three games this season, and they’ll hope to put on a better show in front of what promises to be a big crowd in this non-conference tilt at Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bearcats took a couple weeks off to start the year before beating up on Toledo. Cincinnati won that game 58-34 over the Rockets, and should have an easier go of it on Saturday when they take on a Miami team that went winless in 2013.

Miami’s offense sunk the team in their last game against Michigan. The RedHawks had only eight first downs in that contest, racking up only 198 yards of total offense.

Quarterback Andrew Hendrix threw for 165 yards with a touchdown and an interception in that one. He has five touchdowns and five interceptions through three games this season.

The running game hasn’t been any better. Spencer McInnis leads the team with 66 yards on 17 carries, while Hendrix has gotten the most usage with 44 carries, though has a net of just 14 yards. McInnis led the team in rushing on Saturday with only 12 yards.

Cincinnati’s offense on the hand got off to a hot start in their opener. Quarterback Gunner Kiel completed 25-of-37 passes for 418 yards and six touchdowns, including a 52-yard strike through the air.

He seems to have clearly overtaken Munchie Legaux as the go-to guy under center, as Legaux attempted only five passes in the opener.

The Cincinnati defense wasn’t quite in midseason form a week ago, allowing 563 yards of offense to Toledo, including 240 on the ground. The unit allowed opponents to score 31 points only twice all of last season, and have already done that this year.

Jeff Luc and Zach Edwards each finished with double-digit tackles in that one.

FREE Cincinnati vs. Miami-Ohio Pick:

The Bearcats have dominated in this series, covering the spread each of the last five times they’ve hosted the RedHawks, and in six of the last eight meetings overall. Cincinnati needs to build up a pretty big margin in this one, but they certainly outclass Miami in this one, and are fresh enough that they can get it done.

Cincinnati is 15-6 ATS in its last 21 non-conference games, while Miami is 3-8-1 ATS in its last 12 road games.

The over is 5-1 in the Bearcats’ last six home games, and it is 5-1 in the RedHawks’ last six games against opponents with a winning record.
