The Houston Cougars will make the trip to Utah to take on Brigham Young on Thursday, looking to avenge last year’s hard-fought 47-46 loss to the Cougars.

Houston
The midweek matchup doesn’t give the Cougars (1-1) much time to prepare, but they should arrive in Provo feeling pretty confident after beating up on Grambling State 47-0 over the weekend.

Houston’s defense came ready to play, forcing six turnovers and scoring a defensive touchdown in their shut out of the Tigers, while the offense got busy behind quarterback John O’Korn, who after two games has completed 52.2 percent of his passes for 404 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.
The Cougars’ running game has also improved with Kenneth Farrow leading the way with 151 yards after a career-high 130 against Grambling State.

Defensively, Houston is allowing 342.5 yards and has forced a turnover in 25 straight games.
BYU
The Cougars (2-0) as always are one of the top defenses in the nation, and is once again this year, allowing just 8.5 points after road wins over Connecticut (35-10) and Texas (41-7).
They are led by linebacker Bronson Kaufusi, who had two sacks against UConn, but left the Texas game with an ankle injury. It is unknown if he will start against Houston on Thursday.
BYU’s offense has been good as well, racking up 76 points in two games, behind solid efforts from quarterback Taysom Hill and running back Jamaal Williams who rushed for 89 yards against Texas.
Hill has completed 73 percent of his passes, with his favorite target so far being Jordan Leslie, who leads the team with nine catches for 107 yards.

Week 3 NCAA Football Spread Prediction
Houston will prove to be a challenge for BYU’s defense, with its carousel backfield.
The Cougars defense hasn’t been too shabby either, forcing multiple turnovers in 21 of its last 23 games.
BYU meanwhile, looked impressive against Texas. And while I think they will get enough defensively to win this one at home, I am not sure they can cover the current spread.
