Oklahoma State

The Cowboys (10-3) are entering a rebuilding year, with only six of their players having more than 10 career starts, and only one thing stands between them and a shot at a Big 12 title — the play of quarterback J.W. Walsh.

Walsh has stated in only eight games for the Pokes, but could be poised for a breakout season after passing for 22 touchdowns and rushing for 10 in 2013.

The Cowboys have been picked to finish fifth in the conference and it’s probably because they have an inconsistent rushing attack. However, the team’s offensive strength lies in its receiving corps, with a trio of players who are very capable at hauling a huge amount of passes.

And while the Pokes only four defensive starters, they didn’t stop them from winning.

Florida State

The Seminoles (2013: 14-0) return 15 starters from last year’s championship squad, including Heisman Trophy winner, quarterback Jameis Winston who passed for over 4,000 yards, completed 66 percent of his passes, including 40 for touchdowns in 2013.

Defensively, Florida State returns six starters, and are overall an experienced group that has plenty of depth to keep bodies on the field throughout the game.

They are led by new defensive coordinator Charles Kelly, who will only improve a unit that is especially strong against the pass.

Finally, the Seminoles are very good on special teams with the return of record-breaking kicker Roberto Aguayo and return specialist Kermit Whitfield.
