MacIntyre has done a lot of good things since coming to Denver, and they hope to earn bowl eligibility this season. Counterpart Jim McElwain has done some good things with the state school in Fort Collins as well.

The Rams went 8-6 a year ago, even pulling off a comeback win in the New Mexico Bowl to cap off a strong season. This game means a lot to both sides, but particularly to the boys at Colorado State.

The Rams been a quarterback with more experience in this one. Garrett Grayson looks to end his career at the school with a bang, and he’ll have the weapons at his disposal needed to accomplish that, notably wide receiver Rashard Higgins and tight end Kivon Cartwright.

Running back Kapri Bibbs has left the fold, which will hurt the team’s offensive attack. That means junior back Jasen Oden will need to step into a bigger role and perform admirably right from the hop.

For the Buffaloes, their offensive line will be a concern. The unit wasn’t great to begin with a year ago, and now they need to replace the two most important positions – left tackle and center.

The team has troubles along the line on the other side of the ball as well. The unit produced only two players with at least three sacks a year ago, and neither of those guys will be around on Friday.

The Buffaloes will go as far as sophomore quarterback Sefo Liufau will take it. He had a decent season as a freshman, starting seven games, but he’ll need to improve this year if the team hopes to achieve its goals. He’ll likely do most of his damage running out of the Pistol formation, but he’ll need to improve as a passer.

Both teams play strong special teams, and both are model programs with regards to their respective kicking games, so it will be interesting to see how the field position game plays out in this one.
