Army

The Black Knights will look to get the running game going with dual-threat quarterback Angel Santiago and running back Larry Dixon. Dixon is averaging 5.8 yards per carry on the year and has ran for 1,012 yards to go along with nine touchdowns.

Passing the ball has been rare for Army this year. Army has only thrown the ball 98 times, 68 of them coming from Santiago. They are rank dead last in all major categories in the FBS.

They average 305.5 yards per game on the ground which is good for 5th in all of college football. Scoring points has been a bit of an issue though, the Knights score an average of 26.3 points per game which is 84th in the country.

On the defensive side Army is led by linebacker Jeremy Timpf. The sophomore has tallied 102 total tackles, 70 solo tackles, and 14 for losses. Despite their vicious running game, it is their biggest weakness on defense.

The Black Knights defense surrenders about 192 yards per game on the ground, which could be a huge issue against a very good Navy rushing attack.

Navy

Just like Army, Navy run the ball much more than the throw. Navy has ran the ball an astonishing 614 times in 11 games this season. They lead the nation in rushing yards per game with 357.8.

Navy is led by quarterback Keenan Reynolds who has rushed for 1,082 yards and 20 touchdowns. Like Army’s quarterback, Reynolds has only thrown the ball 96 times. He has thrown for 749 yards to go along with five touchdowns.

The two running backs, Noah Copeland and Chris Swain, have collectively ran for roughly 1,500 yards with nine touchdowns. The Midshipmen’s top receiving threat is wideout Jamir Tillman who has caught 18 of the team’s 43 completions for 338 yards and two touchdowns.

As a team, Navy ranks 2nd to last (in front of Army) in all passing categories. They rank 33rd in the nation in points per game with 34.5.

Defense has been a problem for the Midshipmen too. Their run defense ranks 96th in the nation, allowing 199.8 rushing yards per game. They allow 29.9 total points per game which is good for 89th in the FBS.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • Army is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
  • Army is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 conference games.
  • Navy is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. win.
  • Navy is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a game where they put up at least 40 points.

Free NCAA Football Betting Pick 4* Navy -15

The excellent rushing offense of the Midshipmen going against the horrible Black Knight rush defense will be the story of this game. Army will not be able to stop Navy’s rushing offense at all. Look for Navy to control the pace of the game and turn this one into a blow out.

Final Score — Navy 35, Army 10

This will not be the year for Army to end their losing skid against Navy.
