1. Year of the Wideout

This year’s pool of receivers in the NFL Draft is DEEP and it will show. With several teams needing a starting caliber receiver to help their respective team immediately, this year’s draft could set a record for receivers drafted.

Look for teams like San Francisco, Carolina or even Philadelphia to trade up for receivers.

2. Manziel’s Surprise

While Johnny Manziel has been rumored heavily to Houston, Cleveland and even Dallas, he won’t end up in any of those places. Hurricane Johnny will land in Jacksonville much to the chagrin of the state of Texas.

With ex-Seahawk coordinator Gus Bradley running the show in Jacksonville now, he knows first firsthand how effective a mobile quarterback can be.

3. The Carr Effect

When David Carr came out of Fresno State years ago, he really was a very talented quarterback. His downfall was being thrown to the wolves from day one with no offensive line in Houston. This will NOT be the case with his brother, Derek, however.

Derek Carr could very well wind up being the best quarterback from this year’s draft class.

4. Trades Galore

There are usually a few trades in the first round each year, but that number could be inflated this year. Teams like Dallas and Minnesota have mentioned possibly trading up to select players while teams like Seattle and Denver could trade down for more picks.

The Rams and Browns both have 2 picks as well and could be looking to make a deal for one of them.

5. It will start with a bang

As we have seen in the past few years, fans have let Commissioner Roger Goodell know how they felt as he entered the stage to begin each draft.

This year, the boo birds will be out in full force, but will quickly switch to cheering when Jadeveon Clowney is announced as the first overall pick.
