College Football 2015 Over / Under Wins Lines & Handicapping Tips

CFB Gambling Tips

With the NCAA Football season approaching fast, more and more future bets are becoming available to bettors. Finding value now is much easier than waiting until a couple weeks before the season. That is when the public starts getting their hands on the futures and force the lines to move in different directions.

NCAA Football Gambling Lines

With Week 1 lines popping up, the team Over/Under totals have been released.

Here are 10 worthy of taking a closer look at before the lines and totals start really moving. Lines courtesy of Bovada.lv

Florida State Seminoles (9.5)

The Seminoles have been deemed a team that has played easy schedules over the last couple of years. Whether that be true or not, their former QB Jameis Winston made things look easy at times as they were easily hitting double digit wins.

Now that he is gone, they don’t know who will QB in 2015. Their planned starter, Freshman De’Andre Johnson was arrested and suspended indefinitely. With this high of a number and so many questions surrounding them, the 9.5 wins will be tough to pass.

The Play: Under 9.5 (-140)

Baylor Bears (10)

The Bears number opens high even after losing QB Bryce Petty. The good news for them, Petty led them to many blowout wins in 2014, which in turn gave now starting QB Seth Russell a lot of work. With the Over at plus money, the Bears are worth a look at the Over. They’re a good team and even get their solid running back core back.

The Play: Over 10 (+120)

Kansas Jayhawks (1.5)

It’s very weird to see a 1.5 total on a power conference team. That being said, the Jayhawks are a really bad football team. They ranked near the bottom of every stat category in 2014 and they struggled to win 3 games. With the Under at a high plus money price, Kansas has a chance at first glance of their schedule to win one game, their first against South Dakota State.

The Play: Under 1.5 (+180)

Southern California Trojans (8.5)

USC was a decent surprise in 2014. They had a lot of success moving the football and their swarming defense caused a lot of teams problems. They do play 3 tough road games in 2015, at Arizona state, at Notre Dame, and at Oregon. Other than that, they shouldn’t lose any of their other 9 games and could still surpass their win total with losing all 3 games. USC though has high hopes to compete and be atop the Pac 12. If they want to do that, winning games like the ones at ASU and/or at Oregon are a must.

The Play: Over 8.5 (-105)

Washington State (5)

The Cougars had one of the worst defenses in all of NCAA football in 2014. They won just 3 games in 2014 and 2 of those were slim margin wins over Utah and Oregon State. The Cougars lowest point total allowed was 24 in a loss to Nevada and their highest allowed was 60 to California. This team is still far away and isn’t built to win 6 games in a season.

The Play: Under 5 (-110)

Georgia Bulldogs (9)

Georgia Bulldogs’ RB Nick Chubb became a well known entity in the NCAA football universe as he ran over defenders and led the Georgia Bulldogs offense late in the season. The Bulldogs schedule looks favorable in 2015 as they get Alabama at home. Their toughest game will come late in the season at Auburn, but could feature Championship implications. At low juice, Georgia Over their total is worth a look.

The Play: Over 9 (-135)

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (9)

Notre Dame’s schedule has really come down from what it’s been in the past. Their toughest game will be likely be at home vs USC or at Stanford to close the season. The Fighting Irish have a very good chance to get to double digit wins this coming season and with already getting a look at QB Malik Zaire in 2014, the Irish Over is a nice value play at plus money.

The Play Over 9 (+110)

SMU (2.5)

The Mustangs nearly went winless in 2014, but managed to salvage their winless season with a win over Uconn in the finale game of the season. They are a pretty bad team on both sides of the ball and have really only one gimme game of 2015 against James Madison. With how bad this team is though, they could even lose that!

The Play: Under 2.5 (-130)

Western Kentucky (7.5)

This total is a giant question mark. Western Kentucky has one of the best offenses in FBS and competed pretty well in C-USA last season. They even beat Marshall in a 67-66 shootout. They’ve opened as 2/1 co favorites to win the conference which is why the low number of 7.5 is odd. They should easily pass this total as they have a solid chance to win the conference.

The Play: Over 7.5 (-110)

[dfads params=’groups=63739&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Western Michigan (8)

The Broncos have a realistic chance to come out of the MAC West this season.

They offered one of the best passing attacks in the MAC in 2014 and had they not blown a late lead against NIU, they could have easily been in the title game. The Broncos will have two really touch games against NIU and Toledo, but if they hope to win the conference, they’ll need to win those games.

The Play: Over 8 (-120)
