2014 NCAA Football Betting Odds – Pac-12 Season Preview

Free Picks! Pac 12 Betting Futures

The Pac-12 has become one of the most competitive conferences in the country in recent seasons, and that theme should hold true throughout the entirety of the 2014 college football season.

The conference will feature familiar faces at the top, such as the Oregon Ducks and Stanford Cardinal, but a team like UCLA looks to be a contender with a young quarterback leading the way. In the first USA Today preseason poll, six of the conference’s teams made the top 25.

The following is a look at which teams are the favorites to win the Pac-12 entering the 2014 college football season. Plus we make some free picks.

Oregon NCAA Football Betting Odds 11/10

The Oregon Ducks are favored once again to win the Pac-12, and the biggest reason why can be found directly behind center. Marcus Mariota is a Heisman candidate entering the year, and the good news out of Eugene is that he’s 100 percent healthy following the MCL injury that limited him late last season.

Although there’s not much to worry about offensively with this group, wide receiver is lacking the depth and talent you can find at the other positions.

Rumors have it that Bralon Addison will try and come back earlier than expected, but with original reports saying he was going to miss the entire year, any time the Ducks with him on the field will be a bonus.

UCLA NCAA Football Betting Odds 11/4

The UCLA Bruins have gotten very good very quickly, and while Jim Mora deserves most of the credit, Brett Hundley has certainly done his share to impact the turnaround. Like Mariota, Hundley has a chance to lead his team to the inaugural College Football Playoff while also chasing a Heisman Trophy.

UCLA starts the season with three of four games on the road, and while it will be favored in all of them, the final two are against the Texas Longhorns and Arizona State Sun Devils.

The good news is that the second half of the season features home-field advantage against tough competition, such as the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans and Stanford Cardinal.

USC NCAA Football Betting Odds 5/1

USC hasn’t been the dominant force we saw for so many years as of late, but this is a team with talent spread all over the field.

The problem, however, is going to be depth.

Recruiting restrictions due to NCAA sanctions have caused this team to lose some of that depth the past few seasons, which makes health a much bigger concern for this team than most others across the country (the team has already lost a potential starter at linebacker for the season).

Stanford NCAA Football Betting Odds 6/1

If it weren’t for the Oregon Ducks, Stanford would be the clear favorites to come out of the Pac-12 North Division. This is a very talented team that is coming off of a conference championship, but it will have to play at Oregon this season, which is no easy task even for another divisional heavyweight.

Led by Kevin Hogan at quarterback, this team will have that Nov. 1 game against the Ducks circled, as it appears to be the most important game for any team of the conference schedule.

Stanford’s defense shut down Oregon’s prolific attack last season, and if you believe it can do it again, it’s arguably the favorite to come out of the North.
