Wisconsin

Their problem at OSU will be that the Buckeyes will be happy to let the Badgers dictate the pace and beat them at their own game.  Wisconsin is coming off a nice win against Minnesota where neither team broke 50 points.

This game could be the same kind of thing.

45-44 was the final score of that game against the Gophers.  Only two players scored as many as 10 points for the Badgers, their two most athletic players Ryan Evans and Sam Dekker.  They are going to need them to lead the way against Ohio State too as the Buckeyes are definitely the more athletic team.

They also need to get out of their shooting funk, especially at the line where they have been making just 60% this season.

Wisconsin has been killing investors with a 6-12 ATS record to date.  That is after three straight Big Ten ATS losses.  This team struggles to score more than the last few versions have.  They still play the same score suppressing style but can’t hold up their side of the bargain a lot of the time.  Buyer beware. Ohio State

This year’s Ohio State team is not a top 10 squad like many had them in the preseason.  It was a fantastic win against Michigan to knock them from the ranks of the unbeaten the current crop of players just doesn’t seem to be developing for this team to a true title contender.  As we get deeper into the season we will see whether they are closer to the middle or the top and this will be one of the games that matters.

For Ohio State to win forward DeShawn Thomas has to have a good game.  He is averaging 20ppg but sometimes it looks so easy out there for him that you wonder why he isn’t closer to 30.  The last two games he has averaged just 13.5 in easy wins against Iowa and Penn State.  He needs to be hungrier all the time because his supporting crew isn’t really living up to their recruiting rankings.

The Buckeyes have been a disappointment to me which is why I was surprised their ATS record is 10-6, not amazing but not horrible either.  Still I just don’t trust this team all that much this year so I would go with the visitors or pass on this one.
