Michigan State has won ATS in all 4 tournament games this year. They have played great defense allowing only 61.3 points per contest. However, they haven’t shot over 50% from the field in any of their 4 games.Raymar Morgan has been a different player since breaking his nose against Kansas in the Sweet 16 round. He will probably be more confident now that he has a week of practice under his belt with the mask, unless he sheds it as he did in the second half against Louisville. I expect Goran Suton to be a defensive focus of Connecticut’s big men. He will have to work harder to produce like in previous rounds.

Connecticut has also won all 4 games ATS in this year’s tournament. Their defense is only allowing 62 points a game while offensively they have shot over 50% from the field in 3 of the 4 games. They have been dominating opponents on the boards by 17 rebounds a game. The inside game of Thabeet, Robinson and Adrien should be able to exploit the Michigan State defense. The guards will have a little trouble with the Spartans’ swarming defense but they will get the job done.

This matchup of potential Hall of Fame coaches is very highly anticipated. I think Jim Calhoun will lead his team to victory 70-64. Should be a tough, hard fought game and at end of the game FT’s will push Connecticut over the 4 point spread.
