The Vanderbilt Commodores have had a good year, but last week’s home loss to Tennessee has their fans a little frustrated right now. Kentucky has struggled all year on the road, but they have been perfect at home. These two talented teams will meet in Kentucky on Tuesday night.

Vanderbilt is just 5-4 on the road so far this year. The Commodores have missed several good opportunities to pick up a big road win this season. They have struggled to finish off teams, especially away from home. In fact, three of their four road losses have come in overtime. John Jenkins is the leading scorer for Vanderbilt, and he is really a pure shooter from all over the court.

Jeffery Taylor is the second-leading scorer and he does a little bit of everything for this team. Vanderbilt is at their best when Festus Ezeli is involved on the inside. Ezeli has hit double figures in eight of their ten games.

Kentucky is once again a very young and extremely talented basketball team. Isn’t that always the case with a John Callipari coached team?  Brandon Knight is the conductor of this Wildcats offense. Knight is averaging 18 points per game, and he is shooting 40% from beyond the arc.

Terrence Jones is a versatile forward who can take over a game at any time. Doron Lamb is a shooting guard that has been hot of late.

All three of these top players are freshman. Kentucky is young, but they are very dangerous because of their amazing athleticism.

The Pick:

I think Vanderbilt has a chance to stay in this game, at least for a while. Kentucky has a nice home court advantage and the Commodores have struggled to close out games.

I think the best play on the board is the over.

Trends:

KENTY are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

Prediction: Kentucky 78 Vanderbilt 72
