Arizona Wildcats vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs Preview

One big concern in this game is on the boards, as Arizona’s top 2 rebounders are 6’7″ and 6’7″ respectively and they will have their hands full with 7-foot C Robert Sacre in this non-conference match up.

In their last games Arizona crushed Clemson 63-47 and Gonzaga beat Oral Roberts 67-61.

This season Gonzaga is 3-5 ATS and they have an O/U record of 3-4-1 and Arizona is 4-6 ATS with an O/U record of 5-5.

The Wildcats have a solid defense and they will have to play good D since their top 2 scorers in Solomon Hill (11.7 ppg) and Kyle Fogg (11.5 ppg) will not light it up.

The Zags have struggled on defense in the last few games and if that happens again they will lose even though Arizona is not a high scoring team.

The Zags will need to feed the ball down to Robert Sacre, who is the Bulldogs leading scorer (15.5 ppg) and 2nd leading rebounder (7.5 ppg). 2nd leading scorer Freshman G Kevin Pangos (13.4 ppg) is a combined 5/17 from the field in his last 2 games and he will have to get back on track in this game and that will not be easy against a very athletic Arizona team. Arizona F Jesse Perry (11.1 ppg 8.2 rpg) and Solomon Hill (7.6 rpg) have to man the glass in this game and not allow Scare to dominate the paint. These are the only 2 guys for the Wildcats that are averaging over 3.1 rpg.

Even though The Zags are technically the home team in this game they are not playing on their home court of McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, which is one of the toughest places in the nation for opponents to play at.

In some betting trends for this game Arizona is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games, 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games against teams with a winning record, and they have an Under record of s 4-0 in their last 4 games following a ATS win.

Gonzaga is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against teams from the Pacific-12, and they have an Under record of 4-1-1 in their last 6 games.

Jason’s Pick: I like the Zags, but have to go with Arizona, as they are a better team and have played a tougher schedule this season. Take the Wildcats to win this game. I don’s see a shootout in this game and I think Arizona will win by a score of around 65-60.
