As good as Duke is I think that after frosh guard Kyrie Irving got hurt most expected a perfect season wasn’t in the cards. As a result no one was all that shocked when they lost at FSU…but their was a resounding thud after their loss on Saturday to a St. Johns squad that was reeling. Duke was badly outplayed in the first half and couldn’t make up for it in the second.
It was a surprising performance that demonstrated the duo of Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler just isn’t enough on its own. Now Duke must travel to Maryland, the ACC venue that gives them the most trouble and spews the most venom. Not to mention they barely beat the the first time around at Cameron this year. 
Maryland is a good team with a dominating power player in Jordan Williams.
This game is huge for them as it would generate a lot of attention for the program and elevate them both in the conference and in the national discussion. The Terps beat the Blue Devils on their visit to MD last year and always play Duke tough. They probably would have like for the Dookies not to have stubbed their toe against St. Johns on the weekend from a mental state for this one but either way you are getting a spirited contest.
The key will be who other than Williams steps up. Either way Maryland is a 5-4-1 ATS against Duke in their last 10 so even if they don’t win they can make you some money.
