Tigers vs. Tigers Free Pick (Mar. 26)

Here is a free pick, preview and predictions article for the 2009 Sweet sixteen round matchup between the Missouri Tigers and the Memphis Tigers in the March Madness Tourney…

Missouri (30-6)  vs.  Memphis (33-3)

2009 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 Action
Thursday March 26, 10:07 PM ET
Glendale, AZ University of Phoenix Stadium – West Region

Missouri is 13-2 ATS in the last 15 and 7-2 on neutral courts this year. But they are just 1-4 ATS in the last 5 vs. Conference USA opponents. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 and 5-1 in the last 6 neutral court games. The Tigers are a deep team but the win over Marquette took quite a bit of effort and they might be a little tired.

Memphis is 13-5 ATS in the last 18 as a favorite. They are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 vs. Big 12 opponents. The under is 8-2 overall and as favorites in the last 10. It is also 8-1 vs. the Big 12. Memphis got a scare in round 1 vs. Cal St. Northridge but turned around and throttled Maryland. Reserve Roburt Sallie has led them in scoring with 24 pts. per game in the tournament.

Both teams like to get up and down the court while using full court trapping defenses. I expect quite a few turnovers and wasted time trying to get to the other end of the court. I think Memphis will win but wouldn’t be surprised if Missouri pulled off a mild upset over the #2 seed. Expect a lower scoring affair.

Last Game Out:

Last game for Missouri (30-6): Win 83-79 vs. Marquette
Last game for Memphis (33-3): Win 89-70 vs. Maryland

Betting Lines:

Memphis -4.5
Over/Under 141.5
