Washington vs. (7) Duke CBB Gambling Free Picks & Preview

UW Huskies vs. Duke Blue Devils NCAA basketball handicapping preview & gambling insight. I expect the Huskies get plenty of second chances by dragging down more offensive rebounds, while controlling the inside on their own end. Duke is very good from the outside, but not good enough for the win.

NCAA Basketball Betting – Huskies vs Blue Devils

After dropping their worst non-conference defeat in 16 years, a 85-63 loss at No. 2 Ohio State last week, the No. 7 Duke Blue Devils rebounded with a win and will now face a Washington Huskies team that has won just one out if its last four contests.

After starting the season with three straight wins, the Huskies have sputtered, and after losing a heartbreaking 76-73 overtime loss at Nevada, dropped their second consecutive game in a wild 79-77 loss to No. 11 Marquette at the Jimmy V Classic in New York on Tuesday.

Jae Crowder’s 3-pointer with 6.3 seconds remaining lifted the Golden Eagles to 8-0 on the season while Washington dropped to 4-3.

Huskies leading scorer Terrence Ross (16.6 PPG) had put the Huskies in front with a hook shot in traffic, but Crowder connected from deep in the right-hand corner just nine seconds later, and . Washington was unable to get off a clean shot before the buzzer.

The Huskies have had problems hanging on to leads late in games and Tuesday’s outing was more proof. All but one of the game’s 19 lead changes came in the second half.

Ross led the Huskies in the defeat with 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench, while C.J. Wilcox added 15 points. Washington outrebounded Marquette by a 43-31 margin, grabbing 18 offensive boards, an area they have done very well, as they are ranked No. 6 in the country with 43 RPG. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Meanwhile, the No. 7 Duke Blues Devils were taking care of business after an embarrassing loss to the Buckeyes that ended their seven game win streak, by pummeling visiting Colorado State 87-64 on Wednesday.

Forward Mason Plumlee who put up 16 points in the defeat to Ohio State, led the Devils with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds as Duke came out firing against the Rams, and shot 56.4 percent from the field.

Plumlee, who scored 13 of his points in the first half, also had four steals and five blocks for the Blue Devils, who haven’t lost a non-conference home game since 2000.

Freshman guard Austin Rivers also contributed with a team-high 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, and Andre Dawkins came off the bench to score 15. Defensively, Duke hounded the Rams and forced 15 turnovers.

These two teams have never met before, and we could be in for a dozy

The Blue Devils best the Huskies in every stat category, except for rebounding and assists. However, Washington will have to do a better job hanging onto the ball against a Duke team that is averaging nearly 15 defensive turnovers per game.

I expect the Huskies get plenty of second chances by dragging down more offensive rebounds, while controlling the inside on their own end. Duke is very good from the outside, but not good enough for the win.
