Poolside Rants weighs in with some picks for Friday College basketball gambling action…NCAA Hoops style. Three great matchups are on tap tonight. Here is a preview and free cbb picks…

NCAAB Betting – Countdown To New Years Littered With College Basketball

The countdown to 2011 will feature a busy night in college basketball, with 11 of the top 25 teams in action on Friday night. With two all-top 25 matchups and two of the top-five teams hitting the hard court, a little college hoops could be the perfect way to welcome the new-year for those looking to avoid college football betting bowl games.

(2) Ohio State Buckeyes @ Indiana Hoosiers

Friday, 6:00 PM ET

The Buckeyes will look to extend their perfect sports betting season to 14 wins when they take on the Hoosiers at Assembly Hall. Ohio State has dominated its way through a relatively mediocre schedule early this year, with then-No. 10 Florida the only ranked opponent they have faced so far. This will be their final tune up outside of the Big Ten, and with a showdown against No. 13 Minnesota right around the corner the Buckeyes will look to be hitting from all angles. The Hoosiers have lost three in a row, and will have a tough time breaking that skid with consecutive games against ranked opponents.

Pick: Ohio State

South Florida Bulls @ Connecticut Huskies (4)

Friday, 6:00 PM ET

The Huskies had their 10-game sports betting bonus losing streak snapped against Pittsburgh in a 78-63 loss, but likely won’t waste any time getting back on track against a Bulls’ team that has lost three in a row. Connecticut has done an excellent job on the glass all year, and have averaged 43.1 rebounds per game, and will look to flex their muscle to earn their first win of the season in the Big East.

Pick: Connecticut

(13) Minnesota Golden Gophers @ Michigan State Spartans (19)

Friday, 4:00 PM ET

The Golden Gophers will look to bounce back from their first loss in the Big Ten against the second ranked opponent in a row they will face from the conference when they take on the Spartans Friday night. Minnesota was beaten up by No. 24 Wisconsin 68-60 on Tuesday night, and with three of their next four games against ranked opponents including No. 2 Ohio State, a loss to Michigan State would really set them back. The Spartans will also be looking to bounce back in their first Big Ten matchup after falling 67-55 to the Texas Longhorns in their final game before the Christmas offshore NFL betting.

Pick: Michigan State
